Is this "Jedi" that keeps getting mentioned some kind of nickname for "Antonee Robinson?" If so why? If not who is it?

I think that, generally, we should use players real names or at least a shortened version of their real name. It saves people that do not know, or want to know, nicknames of players or coaches from making identification mistakes. Names are both clearer and more precise than nicknames and using real name prevents any confusion.

I know you are the not only one or even the first one to use this lazy nickname. You are just the easiest person that I could quote. Do not take my question or statement personally.

Yes, Jedi is Antonee Robinson's nickname. It's not an internet nickname; it's his actual, real life nickname. There's a story somewhere about his dad asking him when was young; you can find it if you look.

I did not know that was the case. Thank you for the info. FWIW: I will not be calling him "Jedi" and I will not use nicknames for anyone else because I conciser them too vague and real names make it quite clear who is being discussed. But now, thanks to you, I will at least be sure who is being discussed.

Fair enough... but I use it to distinguish him from Miles Robinson.

You "could" use "Jedi Robinson" then it would at least be clear who is being discussed. But I would prefer just "Antonee" because the nickname seems to imply skills and abilities that he lacks, and also nobody else has.

But this does bring up an interesting non-soccer related quote:
"Duct tape is like the force. One side is light and the other side is dark and it holds the universe together."

This seems like a pretty good take on what the next roster will look like. I will say that with a two game window, I'd be surprised if we take much more than 23 players.

More interesting to me will be what the January Camp roster looks like as that will be the last chance for alot of players to make their case that they have a role to play in qualifying.

Yeah, I liked Sabbi. The quality of his goals has been of a difficult variety than Arriola's. Sabbi may be faster than Arriola and two inches taller.

To be fair though, I’m using “Jedi” because it has less characters.

I haven't seen any confirmation that Ghana wants Sabbi anywhere.

I remember when Ghanaian sources said that Freddy Adu was 100% going to play for them. There are these websites like Ghanasoccernet that are notoriously unreliable. I mean................Sabbi did say 5 years ago that he'd consider Ghana if he was ever approached. That was 5 years ago.

Sabbi, of course, wasn't born in the United States. He was born in Italy to Ghanaian parents.

Good list, and I realize it is your list, so you can alter stuff at will, but..

    1) It seems as if GGG views Busio as more of an 8 and not a 6 at this point. Correctly, in my view. Now, if he gets a bit stronger....OK. I think Sands (or McKennie) are probably DM#3 at the moment.

    2. I believe Ferreira is more of an attacking mid for FCD at this point. Worth a look there.

But I seriously doubt we see anyone who was not on NL/GC/Oct WCQ roster next window. Maybe someone getting healthy (Morris/Ledezma)? Now, if we have some injuries somewhere? Perhaps.

The only exception I could see would be Scally surpassing Vines/Bello as LB#2 or an out an out attacking CM/CAM type.

The only exception might be someone absolutely unexpected who has Hoppe like breakthrough. For example Alan Sonora, but not Johny, one of Tillmans, but not Green. And, of course, Bello can play himself off the roster, and Paredes or Tolkien could get in.

I think Cappis has an outside chance. He is 6'2 has played the 6 and 8. Can defend and has an excellent record of scoring when the opportunity presents itself.
I think the next months will be his make-or-break moment for him.

    Depends on your preference.

I'm just stating that he has the size for either the 6/8. He is not a little guy that may be outmuscled during a physical game.

Agreed, I'm unsure why he didn't get a sniff after his comeback. Seems like he fits the GGG mold of hustle and bustle but as a bonus is a scoring and passing threat. Hopefully he gets a call and stays with the US.

Yeah I would hate to have a little guy like kante, Jorginho, xavi, Iniesta or Modric who would be out muscled.

Do we have his combine numbers? Squat and etc?

He was called once a while back and since, nothing.
You have to remember when GB has his mindset on his people is hard for him to see beyond his nose.

I see you like little guys. You pervert.

Joke aside, since we don't have players of the caliber you mentioned, our next best thing is to have players with size that are at least good on the ball.
