More than most likely. Last regular season game is Nov 7th.

Revs first playoff game will be Nov 25th at the earliest, Nov 30th at the latest.

CHI officially eliminated from playoff hunt with loss or tie tomorrow.

TOR, AUS and HOU also can be eliminated this weekend.

SKC and COL can clinch spots.

Let's hope that Houston can stay alive for one more weekend.

Pats are at home Nov 28th and we'll have that first round bye. So does that make it likely (or definite) that we are the Thanksgiving day (11/25) game?

Yes, the Pats game rules out either of the Nov 28th slots, so that leaves it 50/50 between Thanksgiving or the following Tuesday.

If the Eastern Conference 4 vs 5 game ends up being Nov 23rd, Revs would get Nov 30th.

At 15:00mins., where’s the Revs’ coordinated attack?!? Fire’s running the Revs in circles!

Fire played well and also cleverly played the ref. Revs in final 4 games need to also cunningly play the ref while they also re-ramp their middies to forwards coordinated attacks. Woefully inadequate tonight. Arena may also want to lead with his first team from the outset instead of squandering the 1st half to mediocrity, at best. Kaptoum & Pollster? Boetang’s an understated play maker...

Well, that was disappointing. I guess Chicago has the Revs' number. The Revs gave up more goals to Chicago than any other team - 6. NYCFC had the second most at 5 goals. On the first goal, Bye didn't even realize that Medran was outside of him. Brandon, you have to look around on defense. Oh well, Seattle lost so the game didn't hurt the chase for the supporter's shield.

I was going to add that this one is squarely on Arena. I understand that Tajon and Buska had international games on Wed and Boateng is just off injury BUT all for them showed no sign of being tired so Arena waited TOO LONG to sub.... again. The result is we end up tied to a team we were Cleary superior to. These guys are Pros and should be able to play on 2.5 days rest. They do it in other leagues all the time

Agreed. I hate when Arena does that. It's like he spots the other team half the game (or more). At a minimum, the three B's should have come on at half time.

Score was 1:1 when the "three Bs" came on -- in the 36 minutes after Arena put the subs in, each team scored one goal . . . so the subs didn't do any better than the starters. Are you sure having them come on at 45 rather than 58 would have made a difference in the outcome?

On the squad management side of the equation, limiting the minutes for B and B and B means they will be available for minutes Wednesday and maybe again next Saturday.

I think you under estimate Arena's understanding of how to manage the minutes while getting maximum results.

It was a disappointing result . . . I'd lay it more on Bye's failure to defend Medran; the bad fortune of having the second Chicago goal come through Jones' legs and partially screening Turner ( sort of a fluke goal); Buchanan thinking he was superman and the best option is him launching a shot from 20+ yards rather than laying off to the runners on his right (Gil and Bou?)

I was underwhelmed by Bye in this match. He's not bad, but I think right back should be one of our offseason upgrade priorities. Between his defensive lapses and his iffy crossing, he's a weakness in the lineup.

I agree Bye did not have a good game.

And Feldman was hyping Bye all game. At one point he asked Charlie, "Do you think Bye is a top 3 or top 5 right back in MLS?"
Charlie: "Um, he's in the conversation"

I've been saying it all year, this defense petrifies me. They tend to just fall asleep at random moments. 7 clean sheets this year in 30 games tells you all that's needed to know. Of the top 12 keepers in games started this year, Turner is in the bottom half in regards to GAA. That's not on him as much as ... bad defense. He has one of the higher save ratings when compared to the rest of those players. There are teams currently out of the playoffs that have a better GAPG, but thankfully we do have the offensive side covered. But at the end of the day, Turner absolutely has to do better on Chicago's second goal.

Anyway, as someone already mentioned, we got a nice break with Seattle (and then SKC) losing this weekend. The Magic Number to win the Shield is now 7, which coincidentally is also the number of points the Revs need to break the MLS record. With SKC's loss last night, the Magic Number to have SKC out of the Shield race is now 2.

And I just saw that MLS' Armchair Analyst agrees with me on that second goal.

I like Arena but hes not perfect.

Substituting is not one of his strengths in my opinion. Dont forget he was running the Nats when they failed to qualify for the last WC and many blamed his subbing for that failure. Also Gregg B tried to beat Panama playing a B team and also came up short. Saving others for the next game cost him 3 points against Panama. Arena tried the same thing and at least we only lost 2 points

Also where where was Bye on that second goal? AWOL

SEA, COL and SKC all lost, so compared to that, a draw isn't bad. My concern is being sluggish coming out of the long break. They can get away with it in the regular season, but they have another long break coming up in the playoffs, and they can't get away with it there.

I've been saying for a few weeks that Turner looks tired. I would not mind seeing him get several games off.

    Agreed with the Bye comments.

    Did he seriously say this?

Agreed - Revs had a corner right before the goal. When Chicago clears the ball to the sideline, Polster and Boateng are just watching and there is a massive hole in the middle of the field which allows Chicago to play a ball to a wide open player who creates the fast break attack to even get into the Rev's penalty area.

So I would say it is not even just the backs, it is the whole team's defense that tend to fall asleep.

And I think this is something Revs have to be careful about - being sloppy in defending moments because they are counting on Turner to always save the day.

Boateng at dmid seemed a curious choice. I was hoping that Caicedo would make himself the choice there, but it doesn't seem like he's earned Arena's trust yet.

Giving up the lead twice is really unconscionable. You'd have thought they would have been on guard after having given up their first lead. Polster seemed to be playing with an air of confidence that looked pretty lackadaisical at times. None of that from McNamara - who bust his butt every time Chicago had an attack.

Seattle losing leaves us still in very good shape, but puts more pressure to get a win in DC on Wednesday.

Speaking of Wednesday, Revs-Broons-Sox-Celts - I may just have to pull an all-nighter.

Also, nice goal by Kaptoum - I love how he went for placement over power.

And, Bou's was also very nice - so calm, so patient, perfectly floated ball over the keeper! Goals like that don't get votes for GOTW, but they should.

And, biggest crowd of the season - 28K!
