Yes, but design flaws too IMO. And that's on Germany.

It's not on the country, it's on the crooks running VW.

I put it mostly on Germany, by which I mean (and meant) VW HQ in Germany. Even if there might be quality problems in Mexico, that's up to HQ to sort out. Still think lots of crap design.

Agree 100%. It's on the design and manufacturing engineering side to make sure production is done right. And in situations of quality degradation over time like VW is enjoying, it's typically management ignoring engineering and mfg engineering regarding 'readiness' and quality and pushing to meet schedules and cost goals (short term goals because lawsuits and sales drops are later)

Well if he’s not going to get called up it’s good he’s at least using the international window to get some rest.

Hasn't he played every minute so far? Much deserved rest for him especially in his first real professional season

He played well. What has impressed me lately is his confidence to pick out smart long balls and actually being successful on most of them.

Dang. Ruined his "played every minute" streak. can't wait for him to get called up. Hopefully November.

Saw his game on replay. In my opinion, he had a solid game. His passing and vision were above average. Some of his passes are perfectly weighted. Sure he lost I think two duels but they were all wide so help came.

What a gem! Who would have predicted such a start to the season.

its funny because some scout at gladbach clearly saw all of this. i would really love to read an in depth interview about how they identified him, what they saw, what others missed, etc

He was not a starter and when he did play he played it safe. No scout would make a decision based on the tournament. I'm sure they have been following him at NYFC

That NYCFC DA team is arguably the best youth team in U.S. history. He had plenty of eyes on him even before signing a HG deal.

Did you see him play, before that? He always looked like someone, that would be playing in a top 5 league, someday.

No. I'm on the west coast. Hard to see his games when he wasn't an established player.

I’m not going to claim to be some sort of Nostradamus but I’m not too shocked that Scally’s been a hit. He was very physical and technical in his youth performance. Now, I don’t typically like to judge youth performances because they normally don’t mean squat... just saying... I’m not shocked.

Maybe, but someday isn't today and he's doing it - killing it, actually - today.

Anyone have any top player comparisons to Scally? His style doesn’t fit the mold of anyone I can think of.

Aside from having elite speed there’s so much upside here. I’d be good with another year at BM until Bayern or the PL comes calling.

    Good comp.

Man, you'd think Tuchel would objectively like Scally's game for his system (but I hope that doesn't happen- haha)
