They'll see who the playoff teams are and then match them up accordingly. I don't see why they wait until after qualifying is just about over before determining which teams face each other in the playoff. Unless I just answered my own question with my tongue-in-cheek quip. Sign me up for a four team mini group in June 2022 in Qatar where the top two teams play in November.
Can someone explain to me why so many English-born Black players have hyphenated last names? Alexander-Arnold Wright-Phillips Oxlade-Chamberlain Loftus-Cheek Maitland-Niles Calvert-Lewin Carter-Vickers Hudson-Odoi

The reply to an accusation of favoritism toward the North American teams basically says that not even hacking the other team's players and bad behavior by their fans is enough for the Central American teams to compete with the North American teams in CONCACAF because their level of soccer is inferior. En centroamérica no hay nivel futbolístico para competir con los del norte. Ya ni las patadas, ni la violencia de su público, les sirven.— Pablo Chavez (@Chvez161Pablo) October 16, 2021
Sanctions to El Salvador and Panama were because of the September window so things will only get worse for both when October sanctions have been processed.

Interesting that a Canada home win spiked their chances so dramatically. I'm guessing its largely a function of Panama and Costa Rica getting zero points combined on matchday 6.
If Klinsmann had still been in charge we would have annexed Canada by now just to get hold of David and Davies.
David of course was USMNT-eligible. He was born in New York. We didn't need to annex Canada. We just needed to be paying attention. According to folks on the Canadian side, we had our focus set firmly on Akinola. A team of only players born in New York is pretty good. Add Musah, Weah, Otasowie, etc. etc.
If only Alan Alda was President . . . "Surrender pronto, or we'll level Toronto!" (A reference to the 1995 cult classic (??) film "Canadian Bacon")
If you include the state have Tyler Adams, Alex Bono, Matt Hedges, James Sands, Tommy McNamara, If NY seceded we'd have a competitive, if thin, roster. I think NJ would have a pretty decent team too. Born in NY State Melia Kyle Duncan Sands Hedges Tayvon Gray McNamara Adams Weah Musah Otasowie David Subs: Bono, Meara, Muyl, Haak, Jasson,
I initially repped this... then wondered how it was that New Zealand made it. Someone will probably answer before I can even look it up...
Thing is we're young and Mexico is old. They aren't going to get better in fact they may start to fade and unless they have a youth injection probably won't be as good at the WC as they are now. We will continue improving as we're so young every game of experience by almost every player helps. We should be a lot better in a year than now. So I don't care if we finish behind Mexico as long as we make it because we will be a young, dynamic improving team that will be gobbling up WC experience for 2026.
They squeaked by Bahrain in the playoff. Meanwhile, Costa Rica got stuck with Uruguay because we drew them last day of the Hex.
I mean NZ is a better side than the 4th place CONCACAF team, in my opinion. Their ranking is low because of lack of games which is going to likely impact their form…but they have a better overall pool than someone like Panama does currently.
