I see both of them more likely to win than Germany at least… for anyone wondering, it’s almost as bad as the Steffi Jones era again
Draw will take place on 28 October at 4.30pm local time 17.30 CET Fans tuning in will see a star-studded show, co-hosted by former England international Alex Scott and BBC presenter Gabby Logan. The groups will be drawn and announced by five-time UEFA Womens’ Champions League winner Camille Abily from France, three-time UEFA Women’s EURO winner Anja Mittag of Germany, Sweden's all-time top scorer Lotta Schelin, England's top scorer Kelly Smith, and some current English Premier League players. For the draw, hosts England will be placed as the top seed in Group A, with the remaining 15 national teams split into four pots according to their national team coefficient ranking. They will be drawn into four groups of four, with the top two in each section progressing to the knockout phase. Seeding pots Placed in position 1 of Group A: England (hosts) Pot 1: Netherlands (holders), Germany, France Pot 2: Sweden, Spain, Norway, Italy Pot 3: Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria Pot 4: Iceland, Russia, Finland, Northern Ireland
Ticketing news: The match schedule will be confirmed shortly after the draw. From 19:00 local time (20:00 CET) fans can enter a public ballot and apply for tickets for all matches. The ballot application window will be open until 19:00 CET on 16 November 2021. I can see a lot of fans ending-up frustrated after the ballot. Because some will miss out on their team, especially in the small stadium that may sell-out.
Wow, I see potential for some very though groups coming out of this! There are teams in pots 3-4 that it's not impossible to imagine as at least threatening an upset.
This coming Euros will be very interesting for sure! Netherlands may not win this. I would say Spain most likely. England is just not there yet. Germany 50% chance of winning it along with France. Don't know how good Denmark and Finland is currently, same for Iceland and Austria. Don't think Northern Ireland will get far along with Belgium and Swiss. Norway and Italy probably able to get in knockout rounds but not far.
The Euros is totally unpredictable. 2017 produced the most unlikely semi-final field ever: Netherlands (who looked unconvincing before the tournament), England, Austria and Denmark. Anything can happen next summer. Who gets it all right when it matters? That's the question. Based on player material solely, I'm leaning towards Spain, but I'm not assured by their tournament performances so far. They have an established group of players who have underperformed before. Heck, they were all there back in 2017 as well: Hermoso, Putellas, Mariona, Losada, Paredes etc.
That was 4 years ago. I'm certain they improved. They have won most of their friendlies and tournaments so far I believe.
Tournements runs are a habit. Look at the important tournements and the teams performing the best (reaching last 8) and from those the teams with the same core of players. Those are the most likely performers.
Posters do complain about the management. If they did what you want them to do you think they be closer to winning it all?
Ticket ballot regulations are online. Including this: "We’re expecting certain matches to be extremely popular, including all England fixtures, knockout games and the final at Wembley. Useful indicators will show demand for matches when you make your application. Here’s an indication of what we expect: Better Chances (Green) – Plenty of availability, but a ballot is possible Strong Demand (Orange) – Lower-priced tickets likely to go to ballot Very Strong Demand (Red) – All ticket categories likely to go to ballot" I think foreign fans are better off buying via their own Football association. The FFF has started advertising the selling window, but in a weird way, via an instagram stroy.

It should be a cracking good tourney, with a lot of good/very good teams that could win it. Sweden, France, England (playing well for Sarina Wiegman), Spain and the defending champ, The Netherlands, have to be first-tier favorites. After that you've got Germany, Denmark (which knocked Germany out of Euro17), Norway--and Italy could be a factor. It should be a real showcase event for women's soccer.
Well if the infighting does not carry on, it could happen. Coach seem to be hell bent on keeping away the "troublemakers"
My wish for the draw: Group A England Sweden Denmark Iceland Group B France Spain Austria Russia Group C Germany Italy Belgium Northern Ireland Group D Netherlands Norway Switzerland Finland
As an Italian, I would just like to avoid Denmark, since we already had them in our qualifier group and they were tough. All the rest makes not much difference to me: the top teams are most likely all stronger than Italy, so the real battle will be for second place. The draw is going to start in ten minutes, on TV in my country.
No Germany-Italy at group stage, @Lohmann! Germany has just picked Spain! Italy picked France: I am not saying France is beatable, but maybe is the best Pot 1 team Italy could have got.
We avoided Denmark, who ended up in Germany's group! And we also avoided Switzerland, who would have been quite awkward to meet, since we already have them in the WWC 2023 qualifier group. Italy got Belgium: I guess it's ok.
