This pass transfer window, there was a rumor Barcelona would have him in a player swap deal. Wish he goes there in next window.

Remember that Barca at the moment is below Valencia. Barca has money issues that will take a while to sort out. Moving to Barca isn't a step up.

Remember that Barcelona is far from healthy. But they're getting there. When they do get healthy they will challenge for the league. They have a game in hand and if they win that they will be two points off the top of the table. Considering the talent they have been playing without (Fati, Dembele, Alba, Pedri, Aguero), it's really impressive they have mostly kept pace with the lead pack.

I won’t say anyone will be better than gio reyna but Musah is so good. He’s easily in the top 3.
USMNT is fortunate to have him for the next dozen years.

they are dead broke. They will be a good team but I'd be surprised (pleasantly) if they mount a title challenge.

    That’s a good video.
Musah is already a darlington nagbe type of player. IF he can develop his ball striking ability and overall final third impact, he can play at any club in the world. Legitimately.

Please don't even demean Musah comparing him to Nagbe

If you can’t see similarities in technical ability with the ball at their feet in the middle third, that’s on you. This isn’t a “they’re the same level talent” take. Note the difference

Yep, i read you correctly. He is similar in style, and that's more pronounced because we've rarely every had players like that before. So the comparison is more than fair.

The beauty here, Musah is 18 and wants to be a total dominant force. He's really special.

I don’t think they are very similar. Yes both skilled with the ball but so are lots of players. One of them creates possession the other creates danger, and it’s pretty clear which one is which.

Yep. Musah is faster, stronger, more efficient, and more objective. The only real similarity is the ability to dribble and hold the ball. Musah is a much better soccer player. Even at 18 years old. Pretty damn impressive.

Wow. I knew Musah had a good game, but I didn’t remember him being this aggressive. He was giving Costa Rica fits left and right. He was dominant.

Although he doesn't have quite the same set of wheels, he reminds me a little of Alphonso Davies in MLS ..... he just glides through the opposition, but hasn't always figured out what to do with the ball when he gets past them.

Really showed a great work rate and commitment, to go with the technical ability and vision that everyone has been talking about. Agree it would be nice if he can develop more of a Gerrard-esque goal threat, but he's already bringing a lot to the table and we've seen this season at Valencia that it is translating to more regular playing time (even if they are using him more out wide due to injuries at the moment. VERY bright future for club and country.

Just saw that Musah touch video from CR. That may be our best player, approaching Adams level value (indispensability). The people he puts in the midfield is everything, and he is the creator of all the great stuff that other elite players we able to play off of. Without those other players around him, we get Panama. But either way, he is the one seeing the opportunities and creating them.

He reminds me so much of Mousa Dembélé when he played for Fulham and Tottenham. A pure beast in the midfield who dominated the ball and broke defenses with his dribbling. Dembélé was never an offensive threat, scoring wise but his ability to drive with the ball and pull defenders to him made chances happen for his teammates. If our Musah turns out anywhere near like that one he's arguably the best player ever to wear the USMNT shirt.

I could watch this sublime skill all day long We usually have to play against super talented players like Musah when we go to the World Cup!

It’s so cool to have him playing on our squad. Another poster said it, but I will repeat it. In a year, he very well might be our single best player on the field.

I don't know about this one, Max Optimal. It feels, in my humble opinion, that Musah might have a higher ceiling. I'd like to see them playing more at the same time, that's for sure!

As a reformed Musah skeptic, i'm disappointed to see Musah on the bench vs Barcelona today...

Obviously it is just an opinion. And they are very good young players and we are very lucky to have them. But I think Gio is better now and Gio has the higher ceiling. Mostly based on watching Gio with Dortmund. At some point the Dortmund version of Gio will appear in a game for the Nats. People are gonna be amazed.

IDK, yes, they both can carry the ball forward out of midfield. But Nagbe has much better close control. And is a far more accurate/conservative passer.

Musah is bigger & stronger & looks to play forward much more often.

I just think they are different, complementary players. I see Musah as more of a ball-progresser/shuttled 8 while Gio is more of a creator/final pass player. What I want to see is them play in the same midfield. That will be a LOT of fun to watch.
