This team is putting in the same performances as they have since 2019. Why would the next 13 months be any different?

Do you think the team looks any better since egg's first year? Have they improved over the last year?

I think it fails because you need a tactically astute 8 next to Adams who can pass in that 4231. One of the great paradoxes with Adams is that he is a pressing 8 who wants to be a 6. For me the way you make that work is to play with 3 cb's and a passing tactically aware 8 next to him.

sonora, sabbi, epb, cowell, caden clark, cole bassett, canouse, scally, balogun(if interested), haji wright, miazga, julian green, pomykal, keaton parks, cappis, taylor booth, picault, konrad de la fuente, paredes, etc etc

    there's no shortage of alternatives

plus the players called in who havent really got run like LDLT, hoppe, etc

I really wanna see: scally, sabbi, sonora haji wright and taylor booth the most if I had to pick 5

What I have seen is a marked change in bringing in new players. Getting the team to buy into their roles. And some flashes of them playing as a cohesive unit. Are they there yet? No they are not. Do I have hopes that Berhalter AND the players are learning and improving together? Yes I do. Will they be markedly improved come next November? Only time will tell.

Clark has been relegated to the bench for over a month. In his last 4 appearances, the most he has played was 52 minutes and 2 of those 4 were 15 minute apperances. He is a far, far, far cry from the next big thing he used to be. People really should be updating their hot prospects list more often.

Right, exactly. What Berhalter began with in Panama was TOTALLY reasonable and made complete sense, because you don't just manage this ONE game you manage the GROUP of games in the round with the available pool you have.

However, he screwed up the INDIVIDUAL game management at Panama, and for that reason, he deserves low marks in the coaching ledger.

In the end, though, it may not matter. Our goal should ONLY be to minimize as much as possible DROPPED points. We're going to lose some games, we'd just better face reality here. We've only dropped 1 point in 6 games. That's pretty good, and our place in the standings shows it.

And I'd be shocked if Mexico or Canada goes undefeated as well. We could put Mexico in the defeat column in November, and if we do, it will make our overall position pretty solid.

well the way I look at it...axe the players who are clearly not good enough and keep calling in the next in line.

tired of seeing the same inadequate players out there like there arent alternatives.

I'm thinking of rivals Mexico strength and harder. We conceded two goals in the final to Mexico without Jiménez, and that was close to our best team.

The only CB we have showing consistently well is Miles Robinson, at this point.

Hey, I thought there'd be no math!

I was thinking this way -- 3 games at home, 9 points, 3 games way, 3 points, for 12 total. We're on 11, therefore 1 dropped in TOTO. It's kind of a league view, since we're more a league now then a HEX. It's points per game that matters.

If, in total, we drop NO points, we are almost certain to qualify.

    They don’t.

I’m saying Arriola and Arriola only played a particular role very very well.

Then Gregg made the mistake of starting his tired legs in Panama.

So yes, if we have injuries I’m calling him up and I have full confidence in him for 90 minutes in a 3 game window.

    No more. No less.

But you didn't answer my questions. We all have hopes they'll improve together, both the team and egg.

Has the team improved wrt the system since 19? Have they improved over the course of this year?

I wouldn’t play a guy who isn’t playing at club level unless it’s a very weird situation and the guy is a lock starter otherwise.

Well, the answer to you questions are

    1. Not it probably won't be different though there are flashes that should give us hope.
    2. No, but again, we have flashes.
    3. Same as 2.

On the other hand, we're throwing children out there mostly, extremely talented and gifted children nonetheless, and this is what you get with kids.

Pep or Jose might do better with them, but I believe they are not available.
