Coupla interesting players in here, Kane Taylor can seemingly play any position (and has for City), and Ollie Scarles is used as a left back by England but an attacking mid by West Ham.
It's starting. Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-Manchester-United-City-tracking-striker.html
Decent article from the guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...0-of-the-best-talents-at-premier-league-clubs
But here is the international one, and not a single English player in it: is the 2004 year group really so weak in England or what? (They had some English boys in the earlier year groups so it is not some editors rule.) https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...0-of-the-best-young-talents-in-world-football
They've gone back and forth over including English players in that list, it's not the first time they've had none. It's partially redundant to cover English players in it because they have that seperate list profiling 20 young PL players. They go for diversity over actual potential in the list as well. No nation ever gets more than 3/4 players featured.
A well deserved England call for Sonny Finch 🦁🦁🦁 #UTBhttps://t.co/zKjIBsxLub— Middlesbrough FC (@Boro) October 8, 2021
He replaced Ronnie Stutter. True Grant has also withdrawn & Tommy Reid (Brighton) called up in his place.
Just noticed the Slovakia squad we face includes a player from Crewe Alexandra. That must be a first.
Belarus are streaming their games on YouTube. England's game against them is next Tuesday at 16:00. https://www.youtube.com/c/abffvideo/videos
Bit surprised Bobby Clark was not selected. As I recall he trained with the 2004 lads at one point. I've heard Travis Patterson is also quite versatile. Btw Juni, does Rak-Sakyi play in a similar position to Billy Gee? The latter has been an almost permanent member of this squad so assumed he'd be picked. Ashley Phillips has also withdrawn with an injury picked up at SGP according to his Twitter. Replaced by Tyler Fredricson.
It’s certainly an interesting group. Quite like the midfield balance. Good options from the bench regardless of who starts. Feeney looks like a giant at this level. Looks a problem for the opposition on every set piece. Looks the part in other aspects too.

Yeah they're both really 6s for Chelsea, though Gee can play a bit higher up, and has been used at CB by Chelsea and England maybe more often than is ideal as it's not his best position.
Our #YoungLions kicked off their #U17EURO qualifying campaign with an emphatic 7️⃣-0️⃣ win over Armenia yesterday 👏— England (@England) October 17, 2021 The match report.
Didn’t see the Slovakian first goal but the second one was the usual sort of goal we concede at this level.
Looking at the match report Setford will be back in goal before long! https://www.englandfootball.com/articles/2021/Oct/22/England-under-17s-Slovakia-report-20211022
