My thoughts on Wes' next career move is purely for the game, not necessarily for culture aspects. I would rather live in Monaco compared to anywhere in England assuming I was quite well off financially lol.

Calm down. I'm not bashing Juventus, just pointing out facts about lack of $$ in Serie A these days and that this won't happen with a German club selling a non-Italian player like Reyna. There is a similarity with those deals you mention to Locatelli, Chiesa. But Reyna won't say no to EPL. He was born in England from his dad playing there.

I remember all the brit journalists talking about Gio representing England instead of the US.

I agreed that Juve are not in the best of financial situations right now and wouldn't be able to afford him.

Additionally, Juve will have to finish the payment for Chiesa this summer, along with Locatelli, Moise Kean, and Morata. Unless MdL is sold, there will not be a big signing like Gio.

Even if Wes is sold, it will not be enough to finance a big transfer because of the above mentioned payment requirements.

If you're a 20-something dude, beyond the salary, tax and scenic situations, the other question is, how are the ladies?

Does Pulisic strike you as a guy who likes life more than football at the moment?

I'm going to take some time away from USMNT/YA's/Juventus forums/reddit for a bit. Things are a bit crazy and I find that my joy for these things that I love is dropping significantly. Hoping for the best for Wes and the boys tonight and Roma sunday!

I'm sure I will be back before the years end, see y'all around!

    Weston,
    fino alla fine!

The most terrifying thing in Italy is a guy in a sports car flashing his high-beams as he's "splitting lanes" on a windy mountain road doing 100km/hr as they pass the fiat next to them. You could probably turn that ride into a 5 hour if you go up through like Dignes or something, I guess. And that would be a beautiful ride.

I've decided to buy up all the $1 homes available in Italy and start Big Soccer Live* communities.....so my offer to you is to be my "Mr. Rourke" on Fantasy Island(s)
with a spacious, dilapidated $1 mansion for lease at......$1 a year.

    * by invite only (haha)

Hoping & praying that Wes can have a game tonight that washes away the ugly past few weeks and allows him to find his Jogo Bonito once again....

We will miss you - although being lumped in with Reddit does hurt a bit!

Don't stay away too long. I, for one, genuinely appreciate a little "local" perspective.

McKennie tested positive for Covid in October, 2020 (one year ago). Does anyone know if he was symptomatic? Just curious if he has some long term effects. He just doesn't seem to be the same player in 2021 from an intensity/speed level and also quality.

Saw this in another thread: d

That was back in February, before the Verona-Juve.

Not to open up a fresh can of worms, but I think a better explanation is the trauma
of what happened at camp in September (which I always assumed would have a medium-long tale on his performance) along with the coaching switch (he's had so many new situations and coaching switches in the last 3 years).

It's gotta be a bummer to see his name in rumor mills almost every single day to leave Juve, after being considered a 'pleasant surprise' by most and even seen as a future building block of the club going back to this summer.

He's really young still....I wouldn't expect him to handle all this emotionally as well as a older veteran....or even a 26-27 year old.

Allegri is rounding Juve into form.

Nice win today despite many starters unavailable or on the bench. Do not like playing Chiesa as a CF. it limits him too much.

Weston's problem may be that his strengths don't necessarily match what Mad Max may want from his MF going forward. If he is constucting a midfield that is disciplined, defensive and can hold the ball (esp. after Arthur's return display today in the second half) Weston may be relegated to a more limited role until his onfield discipline and decision making improves.

Personally, I like him because he is one of the few MFs that can get into the box and score some goals. Though today Berna may have played his best game in a Juve shirt since Max left the first time. If he continues to play that way, that will impact Weston's PT.

Both the coach and player personnel guy that brought Weston in are gone. He is going to have to win over the new boss. I think he can but he needs to be fully concentrated on his profession now.

Wes has the skills to fit Allegri's system. We have all (or almost all) seen Wes play a game when he is 'on'.

He just needs to be 'on' a lot more.

His pilot light seems out at the moment and you guys know already why I think that is. He feeds off his own positive energy and the energy seems either absent or negative at the moment.

Thought he played pretty well over last internationals. Has some errant touches but was making progressive moves. He has a good soccer brain but at high speeds his technique breaks down sometimes.

You can visibly see the effect of playing and training at Juve in his game now. His range of passing and vision is much better than it used to be, and he still makes some of his dangerous runs into the box.

His problem is his skill set (passing in particular) sometimes still lets him down, but as long as he continues to work and develop he will get better and be ever more useful for the USMNT, even if he isn't always starting for his club. Max will teach him how to play properly if he can stick around.

The fans turned on him because he no longer is playing with the fire he started and he has been suspended more than once.
