CR scored 2 goals and the US scored 1. Fortunately 1 of the CR goals was scored for the US. This was a HOME game and against an old slow team and we looked only marginally better than CR.
Take the 3 points but geez that was a bad performance all around. Not what was needed after a crap Panama match. Gotta be better.
OK. Back on track, as the man says. The youth and depth of the side is encouraging. The next coach after Berhalter might have something pretty impressive on their hands...
I'd still like to see more clear chances created. But, they passed and moved well, they worked together and kept their shape. We needed the win and we got it. We're in solid position.
Yeah, this saved Egg's job once again, but it was hardly impressive. The offense simply isn't going to get better at this point. A ridiculous goal you can never rely on, and an awful turnover and quick strike. Whatever, thank gawd for the win, as a loss/tie woulda been real worrying.
Underwhelming performance. Lots of missed chances at the end. The scalps were there for the taking. Oh well 3 points is 3 points.
Our starting 11 can play, but they are young and make stupid mistakes. Beyond our starting 11…ehhhhhhhh
It was shaky, but we're still alive. That's what we need to focus on. But Berhalter needs to make some adjustments, players need to draw off this experience, and we need to get healthy if we're not always going to be living on the edge, and maybe fall off it. I think there's some delusion as if our qualification is a virtual give-in, and there can't be a mirror of last cycle. If those calls go a different way on Richards, for one, we may well not be coming away w/ all 3. Then we're in dire straits. Next time we may not get those calls, or the bounce off the keeper, because Navas is in net, for example.
As someone who watches a lot of international games, and more so competitive ones from UEFA and CONMEBOL, the level of play and tactics in this game has been good. It's given me hope that we'll be a complicated rival for nearly anyone in Qatar.
