They had a guy right in front of the keeper that screened him. Looked completely offside. Tough for any keeper when you can't see the ball.
It wasn't that he didn't try to save it - he got wrong-footed thinking the offside guy might deflect it. Look - Steffen sucked, but the offside guy clearly impacted what was happening... doesn't matter if he was "blocking Steffen's view" or whatever the announcer said.
WTF, 0-1....well, ever the optimist.....I will point out that such early scores can lead some teams to get too passive in their approach. I certainly hope that's the case here. I still see no excuses here not for us to crush them. If we can't get motivated and play hard now....I don't know what it could possibly take....

I mean it was rolling very slowly so yes. Dest really showing what a great player he is there by holding a guy inside from outside of touch.
These last few plays are a prime example as to why we need a play initiator in the midfield. Musah and McKennie aren't that.
But CR is such a bad team with old players....again these other teams have no respect for the US and why should they.
Why doesn't Busio start? McKennie + Adams seems very defensive set up for a game like this at home. We should be looking to score multiple goals and bury them. What's Musah's deal? Like I said I checked out on USA a while back because I was so upset with the Berhalter and USSF mess
So far, the problem doesn't seem to be the manager. The team can't pass, no touch, can't dribble. A national team coach can't fix that working a few weekends a year.
US settling down, but spotting Costa Rica a goal is gonna make this rough. Costa Rica can conserve some energy now.
