The country spends roughly 6.9% of its budget (2016) on education, compared to a global average of 4.4%. Its economy, once heavily dependent on agriculture, has diversified to include sectors such as finance, corporate services for foreign companies, pharmaceuticals, and ecotourism. I forgot to mention that Costa Rica called up a couple olds to fill out their squad. "However, the Ticos will be without forward Joel Campbell after he sprained his right ankle. They called in 39-year-old Alvaro Saborio and 37-year-old Christian Bolanos for Wednesday's match." Also, this: Costa Rica forward Álvaro Saborío made his debut for #LaSele on Oct. 16, 2002.Almost three months later, #USMNT forward Ricardo Pepi was born on Jan. 9, 2003.— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) October 12, 2021
We'll try. There are still lots of seats available so I'd bet you could get in for less than face price. Of course if you are saving your money for Mexico, see you there.
Oh, I'm sure I could get tickets. It's more the not being murdered by my wife thing that concerns me.
Try this line: "It's not that I don't love you, honey, I just love soccer a little bit more" Submitted by a lifelong bachelor.
TONIGHT: Another big game in Columbus! @EzekielElliott knows a thing or two about those. Gotta bring it. 😤🇺🇸#USAvCRC x @VW pic.twitter.com/70zOa1M1sN— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) October 13, 2021
Update: Hearing that we'll see rotation at the USMNT goalkeeper position tonight. I'm expecting Zack Steffen to step in for Matt Turner on his return to Columbus. Steffen's been the No. 1 for most of Berhalter's tenure, but the timing may raise some eyebrows nonetheless.— Charles Boehm (@cboehm) October 13, 2021 D#1's love to start?!
If GGG chooses to roll out Crew alumni who aren't cemented starters for this game, that's a pretty reckless risk to take. Low upside (you should beat this Costa Rica team at home), with a lot of extra downside (excoriated for favoritism in a must-win game). It's the last game of the window, so you should be playing your best XI.
I dont see that Steffens status as a Crew alumni has anything to do with anything except in some people's minds. He's a very talented keeper. There can be no argument. What you CAN say is repeat the age old saw about how you don't switch out a hot keeper and Turner has been hot. Turner also just lost a few days ago and he's not some God of sport, an untouchable icon. He's a serviceable professional keeper. Good for him. But he hasn't yet earned the right to sole, unquestionable posession of the starting job. A couple.wins does.not make him Iker Casillas or Gigi Buffon or - to save us a scolding from @kgilbert78 Manuel Neuer
Not to repeat myself, but Turner was really disappointing on corners. I mean, the whole team was, but it's his job to organize the guys, too. It was really surprising, and I don't usually favor dumping someone because of a bad aspect of a bad game, but I don't have a problem with the switch, either.
Fine, I'll say it. One is in MLS, one is a BMF. Pep>Arena. I'm an unabashed Steffen fan so I want him to start tonight.
He’s more than “serviceable”. I love Steffen as much as the next guy, but Turner has been better over the past 2.5 years. Let’s be clear, Steffen’s time on loan in Germany didn’t exactly go as planned, and he’s had a couple dodgy moments in his very few opportunities with Man City. Meanwhile, Turner went from being the hipsters’ favorite goalkeeper in MLS, to being the best goalkeeper in MLS, to being the most in-form American goalkeeper in the pool. I’m not saying that he is out-and-out better than Steffen, but he’s been playing week in and week out for his team, and has been FANTASTIC with the US. Turner will go to Europe within the next 12 months, I’d be shocked if it doesn’t happen. Turner is #1 for me now, no doubt, Steffen is #2. At worst, it’s a 1A and 1B situation where Turner is 1A. IMO.
You Gladbach guys just never sleep do you? Summer is top shelf for sure, but Neuer is the best on the planet Earth.
