this is why DFB needs to permanently cap tie Samardzic ASAP. Who knows if he changes his mind. These Croatians, Serbians, Bosnians, etc aren't attached to Germany. Just reading this sounds like someone who has no attachments to Germany......just born, raised and 100% German dev............

tend to think German-Turks while strongly attached to Turkey.....bottom line more oppurtunistic when it comes to NT. Would choose dfb for trophies and career.

but Serbs, Bosnians, Croatians don't give a shit about that would choose non-Germany option or extremly hard to keep.

funny how we can beat England for likes of duals but flop vs Balkans-Italy.

Balkan boys generally hold onto a strong connection to their family's heritages, especially heightened if their parents or grandparents came from war time situations.

Austria has a bit more history with the Balkan countries due to the former Austro-Hungarian empire. As there's already early assimilation, examples being Red Bull owner Dieter Mateschitz and retired player Andreas Ivanschitz. There's other examples of Slavic names assimilated into more Germanic looking formats. I wouldn't be surprised if names like Gregoritsch or Grillitsch had some Slavic ancestry influence as well.

Germany has examples of this blend typically in the east with some Polish influence. Such as the city called Bautzen has a Polish equivalent named of Budziszyn. The city of Berlin has a history of Dutch settlers as well when the city was developed. Other influences are also along the Dutch/Belgian borders, along with the northern tip of the country and Denmark.

While Switzerland has a pretty multicultural of a NT, including several notable players of Balkan background. For them it looks like a mixture of different reasons, including that they make up some of the better talents in their national pool and have an easier way to be included into the NT.

If Lazar does not get nominated for Senior action next month, I fear he might be tempted to play for Serbia NT.

you can't call up a player who hasn't brokenthrough XI regularly to Seniors, I'm sure he knows that.

and he only rejected dfb YNT call up to breakthrough club, Netz did same thing.

he's a U21 call up, come 2023 and he could jump to Seniors.

    according to Jesaja Herrmann,
“And now in my generation, there are also lot of Ghanaian players who’ll like to play for Ghana also like Richmond Tachie, who plays for Dortmund II. John Yeboah playing for Willem II in Holland.”

-Tachie done well in 3rd Liga-RL but has 0 dfb prospects. Would think 2BL next for him
-Yeboah Still DFB U21 eligible but has been unable to translate his potential seen at Youth club and YNT to adult sector mixed in with bad efficiency uptop. Bench player in Eredivisie, seems unlikely to play dfb again tbh, main reason huge competition.

Looks like Antonio Colak has found his level with Malmo in the Swedish league. Among the top scorers in the league with 10 goals in 19 games so far. Has also scored 5 times in their Champions League qualifiers.

F.Nmecha (might still play DFB) made back to back matches for Wolfsburg as he played 20 min in CL today, His 5th pro cap and 2nd in CL.

find it annoying that Nmecha getting integration while Wolfsburg axes II and just screws their own players.

F.Nmecha had 72 min of pro experience prior to Wolfsburg not much diff than 0. But of course luring players=promise of game time.

ridicoulous how clusb promise things to players to lure but nothing for own....

leading scorers of past 2 Swiss U18=German-Swiss
-03 CF Muci for 2020-2021 season had 22 goals in 17 matches.
This season has 3 1st caps with Lugano in Swiss 1st.

    Also a Swiss YNT player.

-04 CF Polat leading scorer for 2021-2022 with 8 goals in 9 matches.
    Not capped by Swiss.

Swiss and Austrian youth leagues as decent amount of Germans or German duals.

    following
    94 GK Vlachodimos , #1 of Greece
99 GK Okoye, #1 of Nigeria

wonder when 98 GK Kohn will ger Swiss Senior call up. Is #1 for Salzburg and playing CL.

German born and produced GK with German dad and Swiss mom. Played dfb u15-u18 (only friendlies) to than Swiss U19-U21.

but continues to show how German GKa=more breakthrough outside 1BL/Germany than in Germany. Schubert breaking through Eredivisie too.

97 GK F.Muller is still our last 1BL GK. Grill on loan to Norway and Dahmen is Mainz bench have 1BL exp but no real breakthrough.

Well, things change quickly. Watford have completed the signing of Maduka Okoye for 7 million. The move will be finalized in January 2022, and Okoye to be loaned back to Sparta Rotterdam for remainder of the season.

He originally moved there from Fortuna Duesseldorf on a free transfer in 2020.

going from FD #4 to EPL, what fast times. Shows how staying in Germany for GKs=waste of time.
