Well played South Korea, congratulations, and i must say i was almost actually rooting for you guys to win against us, but man i hate Skocic. This guy plays such a bad midfield. Ghoddos is our best midfield player and he puts the poor guy on the bench which is a huge crime. Everyone is complaining about this, for not playing the guy. He used only 1 substitute and pulled out a RW for a LB and put the LB back in the midfield, what a bs sub and then put in 2 players (again not Ghoddos) in with 30 seconds to go. Such a crime and he should just be fired and never sit on the bench. I'm rooting for South Korea Japan and us of course, but i hate this coach. Well played you guys, now lets hope the rest of those teams tie eachother and we get the early qualification and make the continent proud.
If we'd held on for the win against Iran, and Lebanon-Syria ended in a draw, we probably could've just drawn the rest of our matches and booked a place. But some luck with UAE scoring a last-minute equalizer against Iraq. If we win our next match (home vs. UAE), we could just draw the rest and advance comfortably. A win against whoever is in 3rd when we play them (currently Lebanon) would probably seal it. Overall, looking quite stress-free.
lol The first half, at least until Iran forced those back-to-back saves from the Korean keeper, was probably the most lackluster and boring 45 minutes of football between these two teams. While as a fan of one of these teams (Iran), I didn't allow myself to fall asleep, the fact remains that the only shots on goal and only real chances in the first half, were the two I mentioned by Iran. S. Korea had zero SOG and, frankly, there was only one sequence in that entire first half were they might have possibly scored even if they had done better with their moment. Don't get me wrong, the first 30 minutes of the 1st half (and the last 5 minutes and stoppage time in the 2nd half), Iran was more or less awful and, by default, S.Korea was better during that time. But as far as I am concerned, anything noteworthy that happened in this game, happened from minute 40 until the final whistle, when S. Korea's found their best chance (apart from their goal early in the 2nd half) to score. In other word, but for the entertaining 2nd half, this would have qualified as the most boring qualifying match in this group!
I did not mean it was a good game. I meant SK was better and controlled the game prettyt well almost whole first half. Despite not getting many chances.
Our depth at fullback is very thin, particularly on the left. I have not yet seen anyone who can threaten either Hong Chul nor Kim Jin-su at the position.
