Nice with 2 upcoming games without preassure nice oppurtunity for Flick and the players. Hope for Süle to continue on this path. In this form he has everything I think. Think Werner will get his chance now at Chelsea to. Really hope he takes it. Time for him to have some luck to. Almost been cursed with VAR etz In general it feels harder and harder to beat the smaller bussparking nations. Especially if not scoring early or first. Bad grass yesterday to.
Well duh where to play LG instead all other positions were taken? And you still argued in favor of him
So why is this IMPORTANT? FIFA will assign the draw based on pots. Pot1 will be according To the fifa rankings of April 2022. At this stage Germany would fall into pot 2 according to their ranking . The first 7 teams plus Qatar will make up pot 1 - if we lucky Germany will play in the opening game against Qatar . Or Else we get put in a group with either : Belgium Brasil France Italy Spain Argentina England Maybe another group of death [emoji3517]
The Finals Draw takes place in April, so only have 4 international match days to be played before then. So it definitely looks like it’s gonna be 2nd pot. If that happens best to draw either Qatar or European team. Being in with a top seeded European team would mean likely no group of death, the third seeds would be from other confederations, maybe someone like Chile, Senegal or Iran. Bring drawn with Brazil or Argentina could mean third seed being Croatia or Sweden. Tbh under Flick I don’t have major concerns about getting out of any possible group, the team is strong enough to beat most likely third seeded opponents.
Didn't see the game but from highlights and reviews these are some things that may be considered negatives and positives. Negatives: - Germany has dropped so far that we feel a sense of accomplishment (and give a sigh of relief) when we beat North Macedonia. It's amazing in retrospect how much of a backwards negative trajectory the NT last few years with Low were. - There were a lot bad last balls in the final third. For now I'm attributing this to quite a few of the players being tired. - Goretzka did not have his usual great game. Again possibly tiredness. - Defence looked shaky at times. Positives: - Even playing badly Germany won 4-0 away from home. - Clean sheet! - Timo Werner had a great night. His goals were fantastic. There was an article on Bavarian Footballworks that stated that if Werner can return to elite scoring Germany can win the WC in Qatar. I agree. - Successful debut for David Raum. I was very impressed with him for the under-21's. It wasn't perfect but very good for a debut with a high whoscored rating. I think he's definitely better than Kehrer for the LB position and now we have competition between Gosens and himself. - Good game for Muller with two assists. - Success for the young players; an assist for Wirtz, assist for Adeyemi, and a goal for Musiala. - Havertz scored. Hopefully this can get him on the right track.
I'd like to see something like this for the next match: Havertz Musiala - Wirtz - Adeyemi Gundogan* - Neuhaus* Kehrer - Süle - Klostermann - Baku *Dahoud Open to swapping Raum in for Klostermann, with Kehrer sliding inside to CB, as well since it's Liechtenstein...though having Ilkay & Flo (or Mo) shielding Kehrer-Süle while both FBs bomb forward, does make me anxious even if we can get away with it against this opponent. If Hummels starts rounding into form, I'd consider playing him between Kehrer & Süle so they can start to establish chemistry under Flick. As Mats could still be important for us next winter, despite needing people to run for him...or he could be totally washed already...and his passing is still a dynamic that no other german defender comes even close to providing if he will be sharp in 14 months time. I like Havertz most as a false 9 and I think having him pulling defenders out of place, could be the best way to make use of the goal scorers we can put around him...especially with Adeyemi making the kind of runs off of him that Volland & Werner have when he played in that spot successful at club level. Plus Wirtz already has experience playing behind false-9-Kai, with a dangerous left-footed forward to his right, and a winger on his left who is happy to run at defenders... Let Baku & Ilkay bomb forward to support the front 4, with Neuhaus (or Dahoud) hanging back more to help link the defense & attack.
It's a shame that we don't have a proper alternative to Kimmich at the 6*, and a part of me thinks that it would be best to play our starting midfield if we're going to go all kids in the attack...but it being Liechtenstein definitely makes me happier to experiment with things that I don't think we'd be able to get away with against top teams. Hopefully, Neuhaus gets back on form by the next international break, as he hasn't been nearly as good this season as he was last year...at least not so far. *assuming that my BVB-fan buddy has been lying to me about Mo successfully converting into a 6 for them & looking more like the maestro I fell in love with all those years ago lol
I suspect Flick also won't give the kids huge minutes as their time has to be managed with their clubs as well. Don't want to overplay them
You are trying a bit too hard to be outraged here I was one of the people that wanted the Bayern trio in midfield. But given Löw was going to go with the back 3 plus Kroos, we ended up discussing the teams he actually picked
That’s a falsification of history. Especially shown by the fact you are still to this day in favor of fielding Gündogan at 6 and only at 6 because there is no other option
Raum was good, and with the imminent Nmecha call up this Nov,he'll be even more dangerous with all those deliveries.
Dorsch was extremely impressive defensively at the U21...but I'm skeptical about him becoming a senior NT caliber talent unless his skill level takes a Neuhaus-/Hofmann-like jump in the coming years. Maybe as a defensive depth option, but I'm dubious that bringing him on instead of bringing on a third CB, will ever be to our benefit. So we'll see what the future holds for him.
Reading might not be your strong suit, I get it. My post talked about how weird it was having a WC qualifier right before the Euro Cup and that threw me off, not that it was not a qualifier. I literally, right above, say this is a qualification match. Look at you, Mr Popular...you got 8 "likes". Congratulations. You win popular teen of the week. Well done. *claps*
Again with the "you cant read" defense after you managed to embarrassed yourself during the first time in a way I had to post the fully online dictionary definition of "qualifier" for you to shut up? Way to go when it didnt work the first time to try it another time. Learning disability or US education system or both?
