Puro Monterrey city backline. I think the team controlled the game and pace even before the red card. There weren't any lapses and Cordova did well even if there were some situations he could have done better. Chucky plays well on both sides but he looked better on the right. Once Lainez comes in it should be him and chucky on the wings.

This team has many interesting relevos in Romo, Cordova, Vega, Funes Mori. Carlos Rodriguez is the one who needs to win his place. Montes and/or Vasquez can lead the backline if they can oust a veterano. Pineda is creative and versatile, he can play on the wing as well. Martin is the back up of the back up striker (Martino wants 3 x center forwards. With so many attacking options I no longer miss Carlos V Sorry, no more Chicharito, and Guardado (too old). Tampoco, Jonathan Dos Santos, Pizarro, Erick Gutierrez, Salcedo, (lost their chances) Macias (unproven). Lainez and Antuna are decent, but inferior to the players selected above.
Martino seems to like Guardado, and Rodriguez is the closest guy to him playing wise, but Charly can generate up front, but all from the middle like Andrés. Sadly for him, Cordova can actually go up and join the attack. In the Olympics while he didn't do it as often as he can, Charly had that magic pass from time to time that Andres seems to lack, he just goes from side to side.
IMO, that is pretty much what we can expect (whether you swap starters with bench or viceversa). However, not sure about Henry Martin on the wings. I think Lainez would be better.
I disagree. I think the missing piece is still the 10. I would still sell the farm to have that type of playmaker on the team. Lainez, Vega, even Orbelin to an extent have shown glimpses that creative play can flow through them.
