The reasoning is that we delayed our own throw in with about four seconds remaining of the 7. The ref was like, alright, I'll blow the whistle.

Lol. McKenzie (hopefully) may have played his way out of the WC pool. Man of the match, Jesus.

Thats the crux of it. What in gods green earth are you doing throwing a freaking B team in an away game of world cup qualifying. What the hell are you thinking?

Very disjointed performance. I think we could have used a midfielder who could have set a tempo for the team. Gregg had de la Torre and Busio at his disposal. But he kept Lletget and Acosta in for the full 90. That one I don't get.

Yeah, that was a bit of a shocker. Musah got stripped a few times in the 1st half, but he was clearly effective in holding possession and driving the ball forward.

The difference is that it's only the second game and Panama has a deeper team. Not as many impact players, but more solid down the line.

Glad Weah and Musah started. Can anyone explain the rest of the starting lineup (field players)?

Anyone not scrutinizing the players foremost just is not watching the games or, more likely, has an ax to grind. Rookie mistakes, no sharpness in the passes, overall flat across the board. Panama played their hearts out and had twice the intensity. We need more consistency from the players.

And the crazy thing is that he went with Busio all Gold Cup and Busio is in really good form. Just nuts. He overthinks everything and often gets it sooooo wrong as a result.

Way over did the player rotation, then compounded it with bad selections on top of that, and followed by subbing some of wrong guys.

Adams was great but Musah needed to stay. Ariolla wasn’t good this game or last. Zardes scored and had other plays he lost the ball in key spots.

When will we learn that down 1 you can’t play hoof it up the field ball out of the D. This more then anything, we need to play smarter.

I don’t think Berhalter set up the team well but there was also just no urgency from the players. Panama just seemed like they wanted it more.

Gregg not happy that Klinsmann has so many “first ever” records, wants some of his own…

    Who selects the crap players?

Not saying they shouldn't get criticism but the coaching didn't help at all. Has to be better.

Zimmerman has played well the past two games. But he's the MLS defender that the MLS coach sticks with until Romelu Lukaku torches in the round of 16.

100% deserved to lose that by multiple goals. Atrocious performance.

Besides Zimmerman and I guess Turner, the other 9 guys should be sat for Costa Rica.

Acosta with an all-timer. Bornstein Gold Cup bad. Zardes not far behind.

    Back to the drawing board.

That has to be the most pathetic attacking performance by the US in quite a while (yes, even worse than El Salvador).

Not a single shot on goal, not a single coherent attack, and the only two shots OFF goal were from set pieces (early Zimmerman header, late Acosta free kick).

Jamaica at home was the easiest match in qualifying.

All our problems and red flags still exist.

Win at home and draw on the road.

Drew Canada at home and lost to Panama on the road.

    That's 3 points dropped.

If we don't win at home vs CR on Wed?

And our last two windows see us @Can, @CR and @Mex.

This is the easy part of our schedule.

The better team won. Congrats Panama on their first qualifier win against the USA.

Terrible starting lineup, and the Dane outcoached Egg completely by switching his usual 442 to a 4231 and completely nullifying Acosta.

Terrible game by Arriola. Guy needed to be rested. Moore, McKenzie, Weah, Musah quite useless too. Turner's name comes from turnover, because each time he kicked the ball was one.

Adams had to come in because Acosta wasn't working at all, and that helped for a while. Zardes scores goals with parts of his body over which he has no control. A guy like that shouldn't be defending a corner.
