Falcao did not even get a shot, didn't create a chance and couldn't even win a ball to get up the field, please don't play Falcao. Missing chances is better then not getting chances and making opposition CB's look like super stars. I don't care start Roger, but Falcao against tough teams is a ghost 9/10 games at this point.

That's kinda a moot/retarded point when providing for the FWs is unsuccessful by an incompetent team; regardless of who we play up front, how the team plays together as a whole is what matters the most.

It makes no difference whether or not Falcao is up front if this team is not properly managed/knows how to create chances. Even with players like Zapata our FWs should not have work to the point where they have to make their own chances each and every time.

This especially when such wasted golden chances on one good opportunity happens. I sure as hell know that Falcao would not have a mental stroke shooting it at the GK.

I mean I’m not blaming Falcao for how shit our mf was yesterday in the 1st half but I don’t get the game plan

was it sit and wait. Pray to not get scored on and then scored a quick counter attack goal?

If that was the case then Sinisteria and Duvan should have started. Instead of Borre and Falcao because of speed.

I don’t know what I am more disgusted by the 1st 25 minutes or the last 20. The fact we didn’t have the balls to win is pathetic.

ospina wasted time and could have gotten a yellow and been out vs Brazil

The players played poorly. It does not matter what the game plan was they looked so scared the first part of the first half and nerves got to them.
Then they settled down a bit and held on to a point.

I don’t understand what Rueda is trying to do either. I’m assuming he’s trying to use Borre as the pressuring outlet but he does more harm than good. The guy has cement in his cleats and has a terrible first touch which makes it impossible to hold the ball. Uribe was nonexistent last night bar a few good tackles. He just felt a step behind every single time. I’m tired of Cuadrado in the midfield. Sometimes you need a through and through midfielder that knows how to control the midfield and spread the ball which is something Cuadrado doesn’t do. He’s so erratic and always trying to attempt something cute and last night practically none of his little tricks worked. He probably deserved a red instead of the yellow.

This midfield needs some serious work because this one doesn’t work.

He can erase it from our minds if he scores a few on Sunday and Thursday.
It is gut check time for Zapata and he must come through for us. No excuses.

I know it’s no excuse but the Colombian media does this to our own players and gets in their head. Same thing happened with Jackson. Then they panic when they’re in yellow. It’s toxic and affects the players but I guess that’s what separates good players from being great.

I think he needs to sit on the bench for a while; other players should have the go-ahead over him. He needs to learn that not getting his shit together results in consequences and that we need a real striker for the national team. I say we get one of the other players a chance when replacing Falcao on the field.

It would be a huge kick in the groin to him if he does not start the next two. I do not think Falcao can be effective in a match like Brasil. Maybe Roger can play at 9 as an alternative but I think he is better as a supporting striker.

It's not a moot point, the team on the whole is what matters and when your striker can't win any duels or 50/50 balls, can't threaten behind it effects the whole team because you're defending more often and don't get chances to score. The more incompetent your team is at creating chances the more you need someone who can create his own from time to time, and Falcao can't do that. Firminho, Gabriel Jesus are strikers in some of the top teams in the world because although they don't score a boatload they give their team the chance to get up the field by the work they do in tough games. Falcao is the best pure finisher we have, it doesn't matter when the guy gets so little chances in a game where we don't have possession and every ball he's gonna get is a battle.

Feelings don't matter here; regardless of Falcao playing or not I feel that we need other strikers to get a chance to play and showcase if they can do a better job than him when we need results.

Idk if you forgot this but during the Pekerman era we still had the chances for our players to push up WITH Falcao up front. Falcao's style has been the same since he's played this sport and regardless of whether or not he could create chances, the team always did not just for him but for others. There was always situations from each world cup cycle where Falcao worked well within the system despite playing the same as he does today and our team had no issues regardless if it was him or another striker; I honestly find more fault with the team considering that even Zapata himself who is known for creating his own chances has barely had such moments with this squad.

Hell Borja has been the only striker (And Diaz if you wanna consider him a FW) who actually hahs gone beyond what the squad gives and provides goals. Even Cuadrado who loves to be flashy may create chances for himself but can't do shit with the ball be it shoot or even provide. Falcao plays as he's told and he's clearly prefered for a reason if the coach prefers to start him over others. Any other player and Falcao would have been a regular sub rather than a starter based on the stuff you've mentioned about him yet here he is starting often.

We didn't create a lot of chances during the Pekerman Era since 2014, we have a shitload of talent in James, Cuadrado, Falcao and Falcao was years younger then he is now. We have had a ton of games in the last 3-4 years where we played good teams and Falcao was playing as a striker and he was completely anonymous. I honestly can't remember a game for years where we were defending a lot and Falcao was good. Falcao is a great guy and will do everything he can, it doesn't matter he's a 5'9 slow dude weak on the ball who is at a disadvantage vs any good CB and needs service on a platter to be effective. Feelings aside for a legend he can't play in games like yesterday for any extended period because we are basically down a man. Please if people want to go back and dig into the games he's started for us since 2014 how many of those games besides Poland did he play really well and we won? If we can dominate possession and create chances Falcao is useful, the problem is we don't have the team to do that and haven't since 2014 which weakens Falcao's usefulleness, when you play him away to Uruguay with the tactics of ? he's not going to be successful and he was basically missing, and that's consistent. It's not his fault, managers are putting him in situations that don't fit his skillset because everyone loves Falcao and he's a legend.

People giving wayyy to much weight to that miss by Duvan. That chance was an xG of 0.44 meaning strikers are expected to not score a MAJORITY OF THE TIME. It was a good chance in a game where we didn't have many, but its difficult to first time slot it in the outside post and beat the goalie.

I am a huge Duvan fan (as you know) - and that one hurt a bunch because it's his bread and butter. He usually strikes that hard from below into the roof of the net or pushes it in...

And it's three points. Like Andrade's in La Paz....

In bigger context, it's no worse than the one C4 skied earlier (but again C4 had one of worst games of his NT career) and not as bad as Borré last month... But this is Duvan and you just expect that to go in.

The goal is absolutely a heart breaker because we need the points, would take points from a direct rival and the build up for the goal was a good piece of play. I wish he finished it and he does quite often but I also don't wanna demonize the guy for a chance that's still 50/50 to finish. We could have luckily got away with a win when we didn't deserve it, but we need to find a way to put in better performances, 1/5 is just not gonna cut it and a lot of things seem to be out of sync.

Duvan needs to get into a rhythm and not be judged by a bench appearance in a place where we never do well.

I think he should start in Barranquilla.

Look on the bright side, at least Duvan put the shot on target.

Santos Borre probably would have kicked it towards the corner flag.
