I am all set for Costa Rica. I agree with Kyle that I don't think you will get stuck with those but you never know. Do you have extras for USA Mexico?!?!?!

I would put this on Nordecke Ticket Exchange on Facebook. Have to believe someone would jump on them knowing that they are ADA.

No, I only got two for Mexico because I have been stuck before, even Mexico tickets because I wouldn't sell to Mexico fans.

I get wanting to sell to US fans and maybe taking less than you could otherwise get, but if you don't get any takers at some point you just sell to the highest bidder.

Congrats on the big win for Mexico. A ton of resale for Costa Rica out there. Not sure how much I'm going to lose on my pair, but it gets closer and I get more nervous daily.

So... USA temporarily lead the group. If Mexico doesn't win against Canada tonight, we'll stay there. Guessing this game could be fun.

The 1-1 scoreline held. The USA are on top of the group after four matches.

And ES up with diez to go. Those first two results are looking much less hateful with how Canada and ES are sitting.

Lots of ties so far. 9 of the 16 games have finished either 0-0 or 1-1. Only 7 games have actually had a winner.

The expected points cutoff for qualification has gotta be inching downwards because of that. (Though it could inch right back up if the next 8 games all produce a winner.)

El Sal has already hosted 3 games at the Estadio Cuscatlan. They've given up a grand total of zero goals across those 270 minutes. (Of course, they've only scored one themselves, and that home shutout streak may end with Mexico visiting next Wednesday.)

If the US get 9 out of this window that would send them well on their way. Will be tough against panama when not all the players can play.

Matchday 4 was... fun? Yes, yes it was.

    USA 2-0 Jamaica
    Honduras 0-0 Costa Rica
    Mexico 1-1 Canada

Good night for the US. Huge result for Canada. Costa Rica, Honduras, and Jamaica need to start getting some wins if they want to have a chance to take that fourth spot.

    Here are the updated standings:

    1. United States - 8P / 5 GD / 7 GF
    2. Mexico - 8P / 2 GD / 5 GF
    3. Canada - 6P / 3 GD / 6 GF
    --------------------------------------------
    4. Panama - 5P / 2 GD / 4 GF

    5. El Salvador - 5P / -2 GD / 1 GF
    6. Costa Rica - 3P / -1 GD / 1 GF
    7. Honduras - 3P / -3 GD / 2 GF
    8. Jamaica - 1P / -6 GD / 2 GF

We're 28.571428571% of the way through qualifying, kiddos. On to Sunday, and on to GOLRY!

Here's our footballing feast for Matchday 5:

That draw against Canada in Nashville seems a little less crappy now that they've also gotten a draw in Mexico City.

Agreed. If I liked to eat donairs with a side of poutine, I would be over the moon with these results.

Honestly, a good donair with a side of poutine does sound good right about now.

Steffen, Robinson, and mckennie (soreness) are already in columbus. Hopefully we do not see mckennie out and about.

I wonder if the usmnt will train at the Ohio health performance center. Good advertising if the European based players talk about to their teammates.

Matchday 6 is over! Can I stop holding my breath yet?

    United States 2-1 Costa Rica
    Canada 4-1 Panama
    Honduras 0-2 Jamaica
    El Salvador 0-2 Mexico

    Updated standings:

    1. Mexico - 14P / 7 GD / 10 GF
    2. United States - 11P / 5 GD / 9 GF
    3. Canada - 10P / 6 GD / 10 GF
    --------------------------------------------
    4. Panama - 8P / 0 GD / 6 GF
    --------------------------------------------
    5. Costa Rica - 6P / -1 GD / 4 GF
    6. Jamaica - 5P / -4 GD / 4 GF
    7. El Salvador - 5P / -5 GD / 2 GF
    8. Honduras - 3P / -8 GD / 2 GF

Some separation is starting to open up between the top and the bottom. Panama has to be really happy with where they're sitting. Honduras? They're going to need a lot of luck and run of good results to even have a shot at the play-in spot.

Get some rest, kiddos. Mexico comes to Ohio in 25 days.

My anecdotal evidence suggest a heavy Mexico fan turnout for next Friday

By my anecdotal evidence, I mean the 3 other couples we know that are going are all rooting for Mexico.

Mexico dinged with two more fan-free qualifying matches for the chant: www.si.com/soccer/2021/11/01/mexico-no-fans-world-cup-qualifiers-punishment

"Mexico will have to play in an empty stadium for its next two home games in World Cup qualifying because of persistent anti-gay chants by fans, FIFA said Monday.

The Mexican soccer federation was also fined 100,000 Swiss francs ($110,000) for charges of “discriminatory behavior by supporters.” It’s the latest punishment in a long-standing campaign to stop fans from directing slurs at opposing players."

Goes along with my thoughts that this is a win win for us. Either they beat Mexico or USSF gets blasted for the decision to auction the game away from Columbus. I'd obviously prefer option A since I'll be in the eighth row of the Bailey.

My brother got tickets as he's an FCC season ticket holder. So we're going and I was able to treat him to his first WCQ vs Costa Rica.
