It's hard to figure out how many games we were charged for in 2021 since some were played at HCS. But I didn't get a ticket for a non-MLS match. I think we were charged for 17 with the team expecting to provide free admission to STM for USOC matches until it was canceled.

    That's how I interpreted it.

I do think next year's attendance numbers will stay at least the same. Even with an 80% renewal rate. I heard a good amount of comments after the last game about the atmosphere. And the ability to draw 19,500 during a buckeyes game is quite impressive. I'm betting some coworkers made others jealous on Monday talking about the game.

Well, 19,500 tickets sold. Not in the seats. Still an energetic crowd with a good atmosphere.

I'm not sure that many people share this opinion, so it's nice to hear optimism. And honestly, I tend to agree, but we'll see.

Mostly though I think you're dead right about atmosphere being the key. As I've said many times before, the team has had straight up soccer for sale for a long time and while there were certainly some extenuating circumstances ( excuses?) attendance wavered between decent and shitty.

The old adage goes that you don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle. The Crew had steak for sale for 25 years. Now they're selling sizzle.

As the new.promo material is saying, ldc is offering "an immersive experience".

Bezbatchenko took some heat for his ill advised "replace 8000 fans with 15000 new ones" comment, and deservedly so. It was insulting people for no useful purpose.

But the concept is there and it's valid and there's little doubt that they still believe it. Soccer fans are welcome but they won't fill up that gaudy building.

Fun and excitement seekers can and probably will.

At HCS it was hard to find people to buy tickets you couldn't use. At LDC I've had no problem moving tickets, and even to repeat people. One of the families I've sold to, who never went to HCS, is looking at partial package next year.

In fact, they're confident enough about ticket sales to go ahead and inch prices upward a tick or two.

Most people - certainly yours truly - figured that after the huge jump in prices between 2020 and 2021 that they would want to hold the line for at least a couple years until people recovered from the sticker shock.

    Not the case.

This is great!!! I've been lookin for something like this. Where did you find it? I can't seem to located it on the team's website. But it's incredibly useful if you're thinking about relocating. Which is why it's probably so hard to find.

They were handing them out at the ticket table at the last game, as I recall.

It must be nice (it must be nice) to have a representative on your side.

I'm assuming it's originally a PDF? Would you be able to email it to me?

I seem to have a small amount of credit on my account (probably from the games at HCS). Anyone know what it can be used for? Is it only for renewal of full season seats next year? Or can it be applied to partial or individual tickets? Can it be used for concessions or merchandise? Anything else?

Renewed my Nordecke ticket. My $130ish in credits helped make that more feasible.

Sat in the second row of 206 last night and i’m tempted to pay the extra to move there. Solid view.

I talked to Josh from the Crew again and it looks like that is what they were saying, but the problem is on the activity on our account they gave it a value which is why I thought it should have been included in the credits. The problem is you can't say it would have been free and then add a value to it because that means our credits are not correct. I have 6 seats in 239 for a total of $7,200, according to the activity and that is 17 games at $400.02 and the us open cup game at $399.66. That adds up to $7,200. The $400.02 is what I was credited for each of the 4 games at historic crew stadium. The problem is that if you are going to say that the us open cup game was an added benefit with no value then the $7,200 should have been divided by 17 games which comes out to basically $423.53. The $423.53 should have been the credit per game for the first 4 games and not $400.02. This way the crew only owes me an additional credit of $94.04 instead of $399.66 but they still owe me an additional credit.

If this was done on my account I can guarantee it was probably done on others. The activity under my name on the account manager is back after being gone so I assume it is back on others. My suggestion would be for others to check their credits unless you don't care about money.

I just got my first real inquiry from the team regarding renewing my tickets in Nordecke.

It was email from Thomas, whose title is “Suite & Premium Sales Executive.”

Guess you gotta pay your regular ticket reps more than McDonalds to keep them around.

Even with decent pay, it's a position with lots of churn as it is very time consuming.

Eh. I get tired of hearing about how shitty the pay is for entry level sales reps.

It's a foot in the door of sports marketing and one that pretty much everyone up that ladder did
Except if you peddled bras and panties for Les Wexner.

I know that these days everyone expects to waltz out of college with their degree in Lesbian Underwater Basket Weavinh and have companies fighting for the chance to start you at 100k plus stock options, but that's still just not how it works.

If you've got a pulse you can go work at an amazon warehouse for $20/hr and get your college paid for.

It's not exactly surprising that fewer people are getting excited by $11/hr pay with the promise of maybe one day being the next Assistant to the Producer, Scoreboard Operations. Even White Castle is paying $15.

But you may not stay at Amazon long..... They have a lot of metrics you have to meet. Some can, some can't, and sometimes the metrics get thing wrong.

And the metrics for success of an entry level sales rep are likely pretty tough, too.

Anyone can get a job at Ricart, sell cars to their friends and family, make a few bucks. It takes a really dedicated salesperson willing to grind like a fiend to make a good living doing it.

My recent dealings with my new season ticket rep, PJ, made me think he was very much on the grind. I have 5 2020 season tickets but am only going to keep 4 for 2021. A friend wanted to drop his 2020 seat and move to my fifth seat for 2022. I think PJ wanted to get credit for renewing all 6 seats and selling 1 new seat, or some other scenario so he got the biggest commission possible for technically failing to renew 1 of 6 seats. It got figured out, but PJ was only as helpful as it benefited him.

Well, I shouldn't complain but earlier this year I had Brendan, then was reassigned to Marisa and today I got a call from someone named Martha who isn't even listed as working there.

They keep shoving me down the ladder. I'm expecting to hear from the bartender at Betty's soon.

I know Marissa was promoted, but after the trophy-winning game last Wednesday my daughter, in her rush to get to the bottom of the Nordecke and get a selfie with that dreamy Josh Williams, she left her coat with her key-fob in it back at her seat.

I called Marissa on Monday morning, she returned the call within 20-30 minutes. We didn't find the coat or the fob, but the response was great.
