5-1 FT. Lo Celso was brilliant after being moved into a more central position. Kane looking very Kane-esque, which is nice. Of course it's all been done against a pub team, and means very little. The only things that can be said fairly conclusively are that Dele and Doherty are pretty much rubbish. The show no quality regardless the level of the competition. But it's a 5-goal win and there'll be no complaining from me. Thank f*ck for the Europa Conference. Bring on Vitesse!
Pretty brutal that after being up 2-0 after 8 minutes at home against a rubbish side, we needed to bring on the big-hitters to secure the 3 points. Villa must be thinking we can roll up and beat these on Sunday.
That was alright. Hope Kane's shooting form carries over into the PL. If not, maybe we can join the Slovenian league.
Nuno has confirmed the 10 outfield players from Sunday will not travel to Holland for the game vs. Vitesse tomorrow, early kickoff. Doherty and Sessegnon are still out of contention, so I'm guessing it will be something like: ---------------------- Gollini ------------------ Tanganga - Sanchez - Rodon - Davies --------------- Winks - Lo Celso ----------- ----------- Bergwijn - Dele - Gil ------------ -------------------- Scarlett ----------------- The B team has disappointed a few times so far this season, but this should be a strong enough 11 to get a point at least.
Starting 11 as predicted. Bench: Brandon Austin, Lyons-Foster, Cesay, Walcott, Michael Craig, Matthew Craig, Harvey White, Nile John, Jack Clarke, Dilan Markanday [emoji15]
0-0 at HT, like many of our Euro-Trash League games, we have created absolutely nothing going forward with no shots on target.
As soon as I heard that all those starters v Newcastle wouldn't be travelling, I thought, "now - unlike v Mura - there'll be no one to bail us out when Thursday's starters have given us nothing through the first hour."
Philly ... the only man in the world that Nuno listens to. Tell him to get Dele subbed off, would you?
