The problem is that Spurs also don't have a deep bench. As I was watching the highlights yesterday, I was thinking that Lemela would have been a good sub, at least enough to through Chelsea off their game, and maybe do something good on the other end.

Our midfield is shite - I look at Chelsea and all of Mount, Kanté, Jorginho, Kovetic, Alonso and Gallagher (who is on loan at Palace and shredded us) would be better than anything we have right now. We have NOBODY in midfield who can score a goal and/or create chances for the forwards.

Hojbjerg and Skipp are good holding mids who can protect the defence, but they give us nothing going forward.

The only players in our squad that any of the top teams would want are Kane and Son.

The offensive statistics speak for themselves. We are last or close to last in the league in terms of chances created, goals scored and expected goals, over the first 5 games. That's more concerning than the points return, which considering 2 of those 5 games were against oil clubs, is about par.

There's a few contributors, beyond the obvious lack of an Eriksen figure in midfield. Aurier, for all his faults, was a creator. (Maybe Emerson will replace that, can't tell from Sunday.) Regulion has regressed alarmingly. Kane is coasting.

We need 2017-level Dele, Lucas at his best, and Bergwijn to find his scoring boots, to make up for it. That's asking a lot.

Got that right-here are the attacking stats for our mids last season:

    Ndombele, played 33, scored 3, assisted 2
    Moura, played 33, scored 3, assisted 4
    Hjobjerg, played 38, scored 2, assisted 4
    Bergwijn, played 21, scored 1, assisted 3
Lo Celso, played 18, scored 1, assisted 1
    Winks, played 15, scored 0, assisted 0
    Dele, played 15, scored 0, assisted 1

Like I said, our midfield is shite.

And that should be expected considering how bad our midfield is.

We've regressed alarmingly. Under Poch we had one of the hardest working teams in Europe. Same with José, except our football was Antichrist of Football.

At this moment I'd rather have Christian Gross in charge. Or David Pleat.
