Ole celebrating that he can turn up for his job tomorrow without needing to avoid eye contact.

    Great result, terrible performance

FT: 2-1. It's a win, a much, much needed one but that display was nowhere near acceptable if we're being honest. Genuine Moments FC at play once again today.

I can't help but laugh though. Seeing Ole celebrate irks me for some reason.

Gotta hand it to Ronaldo, his celebrations and drive have to be infectious, that hug huddle he started with De Gea....you can see the players want to be part of it.

Looked like Pogba snubbed Ole though

The result can be celebrated but beyond that there is the specter of the games coming up, starting with Everton this Saturday.
Another game that probably will be a real pain in the rear, no doubt...

i was skeptical of his signing this summer but where would we be without CR7 so far this season?

6 or 7 points off the top already?

That was horrible, undeserved and deeply worrying.

However this is going to be a barren season, so will happily take moments of happiness when they come.

I mean, what about a Fred first-time cross that lead to the goal? These are rare things we should cherish :)

Dave is still my MotM: that won't change. Saved out bacon big time in the opening period. We'd been effed, if it weren't for him.

That 4-3-3 should never happen again. Ever, ever, ever.

And Ronaldo literally did ONE thing right all game. Lol, ******** you Emery.

Sad but what do you expect? Especially after the last time we saw him on the pitch. It's almost like Ole is taking the mick with him at this point...

This is simply similar to what Mourinho did to Shaw: there is no difference at this juncture.

agreed. well fxck Villarreal. they are a team that regularly pass the ball directly out of play under minimal pressure and profligate as hell that seem to have some hex like hold over us.

contrarian bullshit aside there was nothing encouraging here other than DdG looking peak again.

i mean we did 4-3-3 for all of 10-15 mins, somehow without van de Beek and looked bad. usual 4-2-3-1 looked bad too. no signs of improvement or change.

what's to celebrate? even if you seriously dislike or hate Villarreal

Also, I can't believe I'm saying this, but Lingard has been one of the better players for us so far this season in his limited minutes. He's certainly earning more playing time.

Horrible performance all around. We're lucky to have CR7 as the difference-maker.

Absolutely love this from Cav. Not on the same level on the goal but him fighting to get the ball back on keep it alive for us, is what led to the eventual winner.

What sucks is that when Ole sees this, it could make matters worse for him. But as stated, even if Ole's gambits worked today, it simply did not make sense for Donny not to come on under the circumstances.
If nothing changes, especially injury wise by January, the best thing for everyone is at minimum to let him go on loan. He's not playing/being useful right now and for him personally, he's got a potential WC spot to save with the Oranje (on top of just wanting to play).
I'd hate it personally because I really believe he can help us in a significant manner. But this is not healthy (the situation as a whole that is).
