    lol Anything like that is possible or even likely at some point, but the time estimates are usually way underestimated! It's easier to imagine for other sports by 2050, like tennis maybe.

    At that point the World Cup can finally be held monthly, to satisfy the insatiable craving of @HomietheClown for international football.

    It can also, as far as I'm concerned, be hosted exclusively by the US. :D

    What's the robot diaspora like? I guess Japan would be wildly supported!

    There is actually a robot football world cup held annually, although the most recent editions have been canceled due to Covid. Iran rates much higher in it than in football and has actually won that competition in the past. The Robocup final that got some media attention was the in 2015 which pitted the US against Iran. The US beat Iran 5:4.
