Real first CL match back at Bernabeu in nearly 2 years and they lose to Sheriff. You gotta laugh. Dortmund didn’t play great but won and kept a clean sheet which is a rare achievement and now look well to qualify. Leipzig 2/2 losses and next up their terrible defence will face a double header v Messi, Neymar and Mbappe lol. Could get ugly.
Also it took Owen Hargreaves moving to England for people to realise he couldn't play midfield properly
Tbf Jude Bellingham is getting a ton of praise, already has 8 caps and will likely be starting regularly for England very soon. Sancho hasn’t really performed when playing for England for whatever reason, plus probably not defensive minded enough lol.
Annoying that Van Bommel keeps picking Steffen instead of Nmecha or Waldschmidt. The Wolfsburg fans want Nmecha to start, even though it would be on the wing still better then constantly on the bench.
Bayern 2 wins plus 8 goals in 2 games in CL, impressive second half today. Good to see Sané is back on the right track track. Also a Choupo-Moting goal is basically Bayern’s victory cigar. Very bad PK decision against Wolfsburg, otherwise would have won.
Chelsea was losing 1-0 to Juve and Tuchel decided to bring on Hudson Odoi and Barkley over Werner. What is wrong with Tuchel? Has he lost faith in Timo? Choosing Barkley over him is really damning.
Jojo Eggestein starting for Antwerp v Frankfurt. Frankfurt have just 1 German, Trapp in their line up. And 2 of their 3 German’s on the bench are GK’s. So just 1/17 of Frankfurt’s outfield players in the squad tonight is German. I think Durm is injured but it is never good to see a team with so few domestic players.
Bundesliga week in UEFA tournaments: - 5 wins (all clean sheets). - 1 draw (should have been a win). - 1 loss (LOL at RB Leipzig). Most pleasing stat are the clean sheets.
If I was in Munich I would totally display that banner too, LMAO. Some fans displayed a banner criticizing Benjamin Pavard yesterday 'Pavard = Kreisliga' (lowest set of divisions in Germany). The Frenchman responded on the pitch with an assist after coming on in the 69th minute [Bild] pic.twitter.com/EIqetU2iak— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) September 30, 2021
world class heading OG in 2BL, LMAO. 95. Minute und dann kommt der eigene Verteidiger #AUEHSV pic.twitter.com/ndICtqKent— elmaestro (@Dallotelli) October 1, 2021
Nice goal by Mavropanos today. A194cm CB looking like an attacking midfielder on that play. It's sad that Dardai lost again. He loves his club so much. The result could have been different if Jovetic and Selke had scored their big chances in the first half. Suat Serdar with a beautiful hockey assist for Hertha's goal. He showed really slick footwork to create another chance as well. Good to see Breel Embolo getting his shit together over the last 2 years. The few times I've watched him for Gladbach and Switzerland, he's looked impressive with his speed, strength, power, dribbling skills and hold up play. He is a handful for the opposition even when he doesn't score or assist.
It's been an eventful week for Eintracht Frankfurt. First win of the season vs Antwerp in the Europa League and now they come from behind to beat Bayern in their own stadium.
Danny is still there, after coming back from a half season loan at Mainz. He rotates between bench and starting role. He's an okay RB, can be a solid player in the league but didn't continue rising to new heights. Still at a better career situation than Mitchell Weiser though.
