You could probably make a champions league winning team with onetime kids Jose Mourinho moved on from too quickly, so no shame in what's happening with Reynolds.
I'm sure this interview has been posted somewhere around here, but for some reason I can't find it. One of the things he talks about is watching Karsdorp to learn about positioning, how to orient your body, and other defensive aspects of the position. It suggests he doesn't yet know how to actually play right back. We want him to see minutes, but maybe he's not ready to benefit from a loan. Mourinho is a jerk, but I don't think it's his fault that Reynolds isn't ready yet. https://t.co/vHu21CFUgG?amp=1

Definitely part of it. I’m sure that’s the feedback he’s been given as well and that he’s going to answer with that in interviews. Another chance to demonstrate he’s listening and trying to improve.
Mourinho starts an out-of-position center back over Reynolds today, with Karsdorp out of the 23. Reynolds at least made the bench. I think it's clear that Reynolds' standing in the squad was clearly hurt by his substitute appearance in that Roma win a few weeks ago that resulted in the reactions from Cristante and Mourinho. 🟡📋🔴 Here's our starting XI this evening! 🐺 #ASRoma #UECL #ZoryaRoma pic.twitter.com/X4woRJmp7L— AS Roma English (@ASRomaEN) September 30, 2021
Resurrecting from Page 4 for a dude on Roma. He is on the bench today in the mighty Europa Conference League against Zorya Luhansk, a team I've never seen play.
Had to look up Luhansk: a Ukrainian team with 12,000 capacity stadium. If he cannot get in for this game, when ?
U23's in Roma's starting lineup vs Zorya: Calafiori - 19 yrs Kumbulla - 21 yrs Darboe - 20 yrs Ibanez - 22 yrs Perez - 23 yrs
Do Serie A teams have "reserve" teams which play regularly and where Reynolds can learn the tricks of the trade ?
he will never get on the field with the "Great One" ... (sarcasm implied) .... What is the over/under Mourinho lasts less than 2 years at Roma?
Very unfortunate that we're this far into the season and this thread still hasn't reached 1000 posts, an important benchmark of a YA's success. Roma visit Norwegian Bodø/Glimt, second place in Group C of the Europa Conference League. Roma is first, with two wins and a big GD already. This is the sort of match Reynolds should be starting, building his (coach's) confidence so he can get some Serie A minutes. Not happening so far - maybe today's the day.
You know it’s a big game when the opponent has a / in its name. It is on Paramount+. You have to search for the Europa Conference League section to find it.
Not exactly a Mediterranean climate, that Bodo. Just north of the Artic circle, and Mourinho is looking more miserable than normal. Reynolds is looking tentative as usual. Bodo has managed to put him in tough spots defensively, overloading his side with a winger on the touchline and a midfielder dribbling at him. Hardly his fault that this happens though, and he's had a couple of nice interceptions and showed a bit of composure finding a passing outlet after one. He's not always in the right spot offensively, as it seems to me his teammates are sometimes looking to him as an outlet but not finding him where they expect. There were a couple spots where he could have been more confident with the ball. Anyway, it's a typical Reynolds game so far. The skill is apparent, the game awareness and confidence is still lacking.
