It was fun while it lasted. Best of luck to this kid but (based on the reports the past few years) is he isn't doing what it takes to be a professional footballer. Plain and simple. And his skills are good enough for him to not put in the effort.

For me... good riddance young lad.

20 years old, a month removed from a multimillion pound transfer, and his career is over. What a world.

It is a crazy world were professional athletes get chewed up and spit out. Look, I want nothing more than for him to succeed, but just commenting on some disturbing trends.

His career isn't over. That's silly.

But the mounting circumstantial evidence over his effort, commitment, and performances should be a big concern.

thats pretty harsh. Do you feel that way about our other Yank screw-up Weston Mckennie?

Ha. Not the best comparison but.. I'd go with someone like Hyndman, Brek, Gideon, etc where there was good potential and they just didn't make it to that international level for a variety of reasons.

That's all i'm saying. Ive watched every minute of Owen's Wolves games and alot of their reserve games, I've put in the time. I liked his style and was hopeful it could lead time at the international level by now.

Not saying he should give up on his career or whatever silliness, but should be a massive wake up call, no?

It’s your good riddance comment. Seemed a little unnecessary and almost spiteful.

don’t disagree with your other points. Not looking positive.

Ha, that's fair. Didn't mean to be harsh. Probably subconsciously was telling myself (as i try to reduce my many hours a day on this website) to move to another player.. :)

And yes, i'm sure he'll score a goal in a few weeks and lovely posters can say funny/witty responses to me. I'm rooting for the kid as well, hope he turns it around.

Didn't play much at Wolves . . . was always gonna be a big ask for him to get minutes with Brugge. Like I said before, gotta work hard and take advantage of opportunities. Hasn't happened yet. Fingers crossed.

It's obvious he puts the time in at the gym, where is the disconnect to putting the time in elsewhere? Very odd. I hope people like Gregg Berhalter are checking in on him and giving him good advice.

I trust the team's Twitter, but strange that ESPN and the BBC don't have him listed as a substitute.

Teams get 9 substitutes in the Champions League group stage, not 11, so the tweet is wrong in at least two places.
