He isn't going to earn more money for a team in UAE than a team in the Prem. The Prem pays the highest wages in the world based on their tv deal.

He could stay in Everton, collect his pay check and play videogames every week (as he has been). If he debases himself going to UAE it's because he thinks he is going to play there and doesn't expect to otherwise. Likely it's a loan where they will pick up his contract with Everton.

I really think unlikely some team in UAE is going to outpay the 150-200k pound sterling he is reportedly on now.

You think so? I bet you if there's a league in the world that is willing to pay his wages + then some it would be some UAE team/China. The Premiership is partly owned by big outside money as it is. Anyhow, my point is that he's not doing this because he wants to prove to Rueda that he wants to play in the NT and just needs minutes. Heck, the MLS could have done that (but not afford his wages). A player of his calibre, still somewhat in his prime, with his pedigree, with his social media presence is gold.

Right - they are the only league left that hasn't closed their transfer window and are likely willing to pick up half his wages like the Turks were.

My point is that he has a contract and if it were all about money he weighs stay put. The only reason I think he takes this step down is because he must want to play.

I know the Chinese and ME pay well relative to South America and MLS, but have never heard of them paying higher than the BPL. Much less a high earner in the BPL.

Go to Dubai, play 12 matches, then force a trade to MLS or China or whatever he can regain some of his magic.

I don’t care where he plays, as long as he can get in playing form and give us 250 minutes in the next 5 matches.

I'm not so sure about that, I agree that he's probably trying to play and its actually good to go anywhere he can play asap but I'm not sure he couldn't get a huge salary in the UAE. Many of these teams are just ego projects for ridiculously wealthy owners who use soccer as a way to sanitize their image, Man City and PSG are basically state run, PSG loses tons of money but doesn't care. Its definitely possible some rich Saudi likes James and wants to make a splash and will pay more then teams in the prem.

Anything is possible - but his salary is already huge by global standard by nature of the fact that Everton appears to be paying him well by bpl standards.

    I can't disagree with this.

However, he would be the undisputed #1 biggest career flops amongst all past Colombian players.

Ending up in Qatar is a wake-up call and if James does not understand it that way, then let us better forget about him no matter how talented he is

It must be. This is brutal but taking a helicopter view of the situation - if he can play there and get fit for the NT (and he has agreed with Rueda that he will be considered if he is playing) than it's probably the only way we were going to see him in yellow any time soon.

So while awful for him and his legacy at club level, may selfishly be a win if it's what it takes to get him considered by Rueda.

I just hope this is a movement in order to get some minutes until the next transfer window, otherwise James can consider his career as over

he's basically another Quintero. I think this move is perfect for him. However I still think he'd prefer Miami. But good way to make tons of money real quick so that's nice.

James is still injury prone, right? Will a move anywhere really help his career??
