It's been a disappointment in general for the NT in recent times. This golden generation that we have is fading away slowly but surely and we're not achieving anything from it. Not even maintaining a respectable status of who we are internally wise where we're respected and/or feared.

There was a golden generation in the 2014 cycle and that is long gone imo. We are entering into another potential golden generation with Cuadrado being the oldest link and James hypothetically now in his peak years. We have a lot of really good young up and comers and Duvan also beasting. The last cycle we just weren't very good at all, we had holes in our squad and didn't bring enough new guys or evolve our game and it was mediocre. I'm curious to see what happens over the next 3-4 years but on paper I think we have better potential then we've ever had, wether that leads to a cohesive team and us growing and getting better is to be seen but I've been saying it for a while and I firmly believe the ingredients are there if the manager and players can put it together.

Falcao, Teo, Yepes Zuniga, Cuadrado and James bursting on the scene plus a lot of good complimentary players led us to play a really good style and it worked, on paper we have better players now and should have better players come the next World Cup as players get more experience. James and Quintero are the key for me, we need at least one of them firing to hit our peak and both of them could give us a big edge.

Here is hoping that Borja can build on his recent good form in Porto Alegre!

Oof... Just realized he is being loaned by the top team in the league to a Gremio team that is in relegation zone and has only won one game this season under Felipao!

Borja has his work cut out for him.

Borja and Felipao have a good relationship. I remember Borja was trying to make a push for Felipao to be head coach after Pekerman

That is great! When Felipao needed a hand he went and got Miguel. Hopefully that helps fill him with confidence and goals.

Brutal loss away to Sao Paulo in the 93rd minute! Borja couldn't impact the game much (which featured two outrageous free kick executions) but he ran hard and it was so close for them to snatch a point at Morumbi.

Excited to see Jaminton come into the side.

Borja scored again for Gremio in their win over Cuiaba. Good momentum.

*Hot take: Borja should start instead of Duvan in at least two of the three matches in September.

It would be a totally sensible move - he's played the most regular minutes in recent weeks of any center forward and he's doing alright (though both his goals in Brasil have been penalties).

If it lights a [emoji91]under Duvan - I’m all for it. Borja does a good job of making a presence felt on the pitch.

Tremendous return to Brasil for Borja. Gremio has moved to 17th in the table two points out of safety and incredibly just four points off of the qualifying places for the Copa Suramericana.

Huge impact in just a few days - and that includes the painful stoppage time goal to Sao Paulo.

Hopefully with Campaz they can guide the team clear of relegation threat and focus on qualifying for something.

    Yes.
Not easy to do the perfect (penalty) shot every time so I will let it slide. :D
