Each situation is a little bit different though. Colombian fans and media are going to pressure Rueda constantly until he gets called up. Everton Fans and media may be fed up with James to the point where they are on the side of Benitez if he does not start him. Especially after what James said about not knowing who the team was playing a few weeks back.
It comes down to results if we had gotten 7-9 last 3 games only James die hards would be complaining I am complaining about copa america and Ruedas 1st two games with the NT. James would have def made a difference to me we def beat Argentina with James….. Brazil tho…. I don’t know. it’s really the what if because he is and has always been our game changer
Benitez was wildly not wanted because of his ties to Liverpool and Everton fans were pretty big James fans when he was playing for the most part. He can get away with it when they're winning, the second that changes and those fans will turn on Benitez in a heart beat, mainly because they already have a bias against him.
Not only is James not on the bench, they are missing Richarlison and basically have no real quality attackers on the bench and Benitez left a spot empty, so he'd rather have no one then the option of James. Hooo leee shiiiiiit.
I imagine James and his agent are eyeing walking away at the end of the contract this year on a free. That's really the only way I can see Rafa getting away wit this with the owners, maybe their sending a message or trying to get him to sign an extension and he turned it down? Either way its still really next level by Benitez.
Don't think so. This is all Rafa. Why would they want James to extend when the manager doesn't want him to begin with. Just a huge power trip.
I'd imagine simply to get value from the asset (James), if he runs his contract down then I'm assuming they know he's planning on walking away on a free as opposed to them getting a chance to sell him and recoup a fee? Either way this is Benitez for sure, but idk how the ownership feels about pissing away all value on an expensive asset.
Nah, although I missed the 3rd one eating. Let's see now how Benitez handles this, he had basically no attackers to bring off the bench after his side went down and an empty spot on the bench.

If James is back training normally and isn't confident on current fitness...there's a contradiction going on.
1439730753621970946 is not a valid tweet id Pep's favorite guy (I kid!) going way out on a limb here. If this turns out to be true, Sierra solidifies himself as legit...let's see.
I don't know. If JuanFer can still be called up in China and Cuellar in Saudi Arabia I am sure James can still be called up scoring and assisting in the middle east somewhere.
Total opposite. If he goes, it will be because it's the last market he can move to and get minutes now. Rueda asked him to play this season and James must know with Rafa it's not happening at Everton.
totally disagree with this assessment. Why would he ever care what Rueda thinks? Money grab + no real commitment needed + plays when he wants.
