About to be added as the third Early Releg candidate to Fürth and Norwich.

No Venezia? And there is someone in France as well. We are big in those big 5.

Nope. They defeated Empoli away, with Busio playing 90. It may be the best YA league result so far this season, actually.

Alaves don’t seem to be very good. They’re being dominated by a mediocre Osasuna team.

Osasuna is not mediocre, they're QF Europa quality.

PS: Of course, the Europa is not exactly high quality at this point, so if you're talking about La Liga alone (not in general), yes, they're mediocre for La Liga and expected to finish in the #6-#14 range.

That is what I meant, yes.

I was also talking out of my ass.

Also, how are the Alaves fans talking about Miazga - can we get some Suyuntuy-patented forum links and/or random translations?

I don't follow Alavés but I know the fans so far are ok with Matt. Which is remarkable, since the club doesn't have an active forum and the opinions are mainly put on Twitter and Reddit, places not particularly known for their love of American players.

BTW today I learned that "miazga" means wood pulp in Polish (and should be pronounced mee-AHZ-gah).

Certainly a huge win for Alaves and Miazga. This is an outright theft of points as this was not the game you would have expected them to grab 3. Hopefully this gives the team a bit of confidence moving forward.

The goal was scored by his CB partner Laguardia. I assume he skied for a header.

First victory for Alaves over Atletico Madrid since 2003...and due to a huge defensive effort from the team ....with Miazga playing all game...

promising start for him in La Liga.

Exciting result for Alves and Miazga. The return of Griezeman to AM not going very well, so far.

He didn’t get up all that far, but his hang time was amazing. He had to circle for two hours on delay, and the ball just came to him eventually.

Gotta give credit to him. Hope he can keep them alive all season!
