    Yay!! We win!!

And we should still be pissed off at the referee!! He let Austin get away with a ton of fouls in the second half. The foul on TT in the box should have been a PK. The PK we got was more iffy. But their GK should have gotten a red card.

    Bunch of crap.

And we aren’t very good. We played OK, well no. We had moments where we were good, and moments where we really sucked. So kind of OK on balance.

What a great comeback by the Quakes!

Too bad they can’t play an Austin FC every match…

Benji is the biggest plus for me. He is a developing player that has the things you cant teach: Size and speed. And he seems to be more than just an athlete too. He has a soccer brain. There's something there. He could become a pretty good option for us. Absolutely better than Rios, but that is low praise lol

I haven’t been that excited during a Quakes game in a really really long time.
And Chofis was great again. I ADMIT IT.

Really a great win considering the heat (90 degrees), the stadium, not having Almeyda, being doiwn 1-3 at HT, and just not giving up despite what looks like possibly a lot of injuries.

Quakes rarely beat expansion teams (not from Minnesota). It is cause for celebration.

So will their player get fined for the foul on TT in the box? And what about their keeper? Weren't we just discussing the rules for getting tossed for hitting someone in the face/head? He met all the conditions! He wasn't fighting for possession of the ball and it was clearly intentional.

Yeah, hubby and I have done a U-turn on Chofis as well.

BTW, one of the things I really liked seeing tonight at Austin? EMPTY SEATS. I hate Precourt.

Considering how intense this game ended up being by both sides, perhaps my wording in the first post of the pregame thread wasn't that far off? ;)

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

If Almeyda had been there, he would have been ejected again for justifiably abusing Baldomero

The PK we did get was 100% legit under the current interpretation of handling. The TT one in the area is certainly a judgment. What I saw was that he had an easy path forward towards goal and he chose to slow down and try to get a PK. The referee gestured what I initially saw which was TT throwing he butt out towards the defender to initiate contact. It's not the first time he's done that. GK, yeah red would be good and possibly it would have been if Espinoza hadn't thrown their player into the back of the net. One doesn't justify the other, but it can influence the referee's decision.
