P$G didn't look that great to me, they are missing players but that sounds silly when you consider who was in the starting lineup. For me, the squad isn't balanced, a team like this needs players in attack who are going to sacrifice themselves both physically in the box and by contributing to the press.

Some people were being rather silly just giving them the CL trophy over the summer.

I expect them to be a serious challenger in the end but you can take nothing for granted in this competition.

This will make some people here laugh but I think Messi will leave money on the table to leave PSG early at some point.

    Nah.
He's too old for that imo.
Unless it's to semi-retire at MLS or China.

Recent reports suggest that he can't stand it in France. Sounds believable, mostly because he was allegedly living is some kind of separate community thing with just friends around him in Spain.

Very normal for it to take many months to adapt to a new place. And obviously for him it will never feel like where he lived in Barcelona. But perhaps him and Neymar could share a big pad together. :ROFLMAO:

People are so particular about where they live and I understand

but I’m weird. Just simple dude

Like what matters to me is my family, my fitness, having a comfortable home, be able to watch movies and shows, and have places to visit.

One of my major grouse with the last ESL was inclusion of teams like Arsenal, Milan, Leipzig and Spurs. These teams have done very little to be considered among the European elite clubs. If you have Arsenal, Milan you can as well have Bremen Valencia Lazio and Schalke

Not entirely true. They bring in bigger revenue and a larger fanbase.

I think you are talking about Sporting’s LB who is Vinagre. Antony torched him repeatedly and Sporting really shit the bed in that match. Missing the captain Coates hurt a lot, clearly. Still a young, inexperienced squad with a lot to learn when it comes to European matches.

True, although BCN >>>> Paris. Messi is probably experiencing a bit of a culture shock, and not the good kind. But its only a 2-year contact, right? Don't see him leaving before that (even if he had a choice).

I berated Florentino for years for nothing doing anything. After he missed Mbappe; Florentino saw the entire Forrest.

I could only see the trees.

Romeu on why Barca rejected CVC deal at the expense of losing Messi:

"In the end, Mr. Tebas has done the work of Messi for us. We had a problem called Fair Play due to an inherited situation, but if we signed a document, things would have changed. In the end that was not possible because it was something undeniable. That compromised the solvency of the club and was a 50-year mortgage for an exorbitant price. The fund invests 2,000 million euros and turns it into 22,000 million euros. That for a club like Barcelona represents a financial cost of more than 13% interest and we have the option of financing ourselves below 2%.

That operation was ruinous. We would have loved for Messi to continue, but in those terms we could not do it. Above everyone is the club. Obviously the responsibility lies with the club, but we inherited a catastrophic situation and these are the consequences. "

"In the first training session, I remember that Capello chose me. After a year, I scored 27 goals, Cristiano 26 ... and in the summer they brought Benzema and Kaká in. I said: "It can't be. How many goals do I have to score? I'm a scorer and you bring me Benzema and Kaká.

"Karim came and made me get the best of myself and me of him. With Benzema it was a very healthy competition. He made us both perform. You could see that he was a terrific striker. Unfortunately, we didn't get to play much together."

Did he forget that Benzema and Kaka joined in the same season as Ronaldo? :D

Best thing we're the incredibly awkward interviews with the national team where he and Di Maria didn't want to commit to Messi or Ronaldo being better.

So in Higauin’s head he thinks he out scored Cristiano Ronaldo in his first season at Madrid? Surely not that had to have been a misquote from the papers.
