I already registered and really hopeful this will work. I travel alone but 200-300 USD a night would be fine as long as the apartment is decent.
Its good practice for the US world cup in 2026 when you’ll be paying 200-300 USD for a category 3 ticket for Madagascar v Oman.
Or merely if you want to wear shorts or skinny jeans. Men are required to wear clothes covering their shoulders and legs at all times. Make sure to avoid skinny jeans, sleeveless shirts and shorts in public.
From an UK website, quoting dress code rules circa 2019. Saudi League fans in stadiums might have something to say though: shorts, skinny jeans, worn in front of TV cameras. No wife-beaters, nor ladies in the crowd though. Too bad their league continues to be a propaganda vehicle. Al-Ittihad vs Abha, Saudi League 1st division, 09/11/21 :
Oceania looking to have its entire qualification tournament in Qatar. https://www.oceaniafootball.com/ofc-update-on-fifa-world-cup-qatar-2022-oceania-qualifiers/ J
Normally I'd say it sounds like a great vacation considering there's only one team winning that event, but they're coming from Pacific Islands so...
looks like we are also playing our next home game in Doha so Qatar seems to be hosting more of the world cup than just the final tournament.
Morocco is going to be a neutral site for some Qualifiers: https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/20...frican-qualifications-to-qatar-world-cup-2022
Question for australians: if australia qualifies to the world cup, would fans come in the same numbers they went to Russia ? Logistically speaking, all australians going to Europe can do a mid-way stop in Doha, watch some games and continue their trip, am i correct? Qatar is not appealing as a country but logistically it is easy and could be tempting ? Same questions to europeans ir americans going to East Asia and who usually use emirates airlines or Qatar airways
Haha yeah was just about to share that, host a fan being a new thing here. It says voluntarily, so I guess that means for free? Maybe for the World Cup, there'll be "host a player". Might volunteer for that one...
It is the equivalent of coachsurfing..sounds they did not manage to secure the required nbr of rooms. Heard they will oblige companies to make their staff work remotely so they push pple not interested by the world cup to leave the country may be and rent their apartments.. Well at least they are doing everything possible and i believe they will manage at the end to secure 150 000 rooms..lets see
hello, is there a ticket thread for world cup 2022 ? Any estimates on when the tickets will be available for purchase ? Thanks
at some point we'll need separate threads. I'm not a mod but if was one I'd be starting them up really soon. Once the ticketing stuff starts it'll start overwhelming everything and all the good lodging info that's going to critical for this particular tournament is going to get buried.
Yes, please - separate threads. The ticket thread alone can run over 500 pages of posts. Ok, for Qatar maybe 100 pages.
Well Arab Cup tickets just went on sale in case anyone's interested in that. They are opening 3 new stadiums for it, so I'll try and see each one. Pretty easy to get tickets for that as pretty much all games are open, even opening match and final for all categories. I hope the WC itself is like this
I doubt..i still think it will be as difficult as russia to book the interesting games..the main reason is: In Russia i stayed 10 nights to watch 3 games. In Qatar i will probably stay 5 days (2 long weekends) and will watch at least 10 games.. A bit of Math to understand that every night a fan spent in russia is 0.3 tickets bought..every night a fan will spend in qatar = 1.5 tickets needed.. Good luck..
Good point. I'm in a similar situation. In both Brazil and Russia I was there for 3+ weeks and went to a match almost exactly every 3rd day and thoroughly enjoyed the non-live match days seeing the sights and watching matches on TV in bars in different interesting cities. Looking back, watching those matches in bars were incredibly fun and interesting and are some of my best memories of both trips. In Qatar I think I'll plan a much shorter trip and just try to go to a live match almost every day. There are no sights I want to see in Qatar and I don't think watching matches in the hotel bars in Qatar is going to be anywhere near as fun as it was the last 2 WCs.
Agree re neutral fans attending much more games. Of course you will have many fans of their own team as well who may not be too bothered to watch other countries. I believe tickets may be a lot tougher than people expect. Multiple games in the same day will be very easy here. It was possible in South Africa as well.
