Celtic thought they pulled one back but Rogic was rightful flagged for offside.

    4-3 Betis

Celtic finally pull one back in the 87th but it might be too little too late.

    Final 4-3.

Exciting for the neutrals but frustrating result. Celtic had a meltdown. Yet, they still had chances it equalize or go ahead. But big moment for me was the missed chance Celtic had up 2-0 where Celtic player couldn’t get the ball up and over the keeper on a 1-v-1. It would have put them up 3-0. Betis scored seconds later. That was a game charger.

As for CCV…….. up and down match for him. CCV had some big moments where he made some key interceptions and/or tackles but had moments where he could have done better on 3 of the goals. None were directly his fault. It’s a team game but he could have done slightly better.

I found a replay of the second Betis goal. CCV was very unlucky there. Depending on the replay angle, the guy's head was offside or just barely tied with CCV's feet. Very, very close.

Third goal. CCV *maybe* could have reacted faster. But the bigger issue was how #10 managed to get so easily into the left side completely unchallenged. Something was wrong with the defensive scheme. That shouldn't happen.

Fourth goal. Not much he could have done there. Hopefully he can stick it out and do well at Celtic.

Betis may be the best (or joint best with Bayer) team they play all year. His Celtic success might be judged by whether the defense plays well enough to contend for the Scottish title instead of losing by 25 points.

Carter-Vickers starts against Raith Rovers (a Scottish Championship side) in a cup match. Celtic have had all of the possession and their defense looks to physically outmatch Raith on the longballs. Celtic just went up 2-0 late in the first half.

CCV also the target man on corners. He's not that tall, but strong and hard to push off line in the air, at least for these Raith defenders.

CCV starting in the Europa League. Since he's the only YA playing at the moment, I guess this is the game to watch.

Josh Cohen and Henry Wingo both started! But they don't seem to be on Paramount. Or you could watch Yedlin and Konrad both sit on the bench in their big showdown...

Well, they're down 1-0. Really horrible turnover by a tripping Turnbull in the box leads to a Hinapie goal that will be generous to not be called an OG. CCV was defending a man uninvolved in the play as it happened.

Paulinho makes his way down the left. CCV comes over to contain, but maybe gives too much room, as Paulinho picks out Wirtz making the far post run pretty wide open. 2-0.

Celtic seem to have decided that the way to beat Leverkusen is to press. Let's just say it's not working.

Yes, I knew about Konrad, but I'd rather watch a game where one of our guys is playing. Good luck to Josh, but I can't get into a third tier competition when we have so many guys playing at the top level now (I used to listen to Fulham radio streams when they were in the English second division just to hear how Eddie Lewis was doing. Those days are over--I'm a bit more spoiled now).

You can find pretty much *any* game streaming for free now online. Don't let your cable/satellite provider limit your fun.

Thanks for the tip on Wingo. With this game not competitive at the moment, I think I'll switch over and watch him.

Penalty to Leverkusen in the 57th was due to a CCV handball, for which he also got a yellow card. Fun day. 3-0.

Why is this game today? Why is it so early? I missed a memo. However, CCV starts at RCB against the Henry Wingo, who starts the opposite way at RB. Winner gets out of last place in the group.

Mmaee kicks Furuhashi in the butt after the play. If he had done it really hard, that's a potential red. Lovetap and a revenge shove meant duelling yellows instead. CCV was nearby but stayed out of the fray.

First half highlights include Wingo getting caught out losing Filipe just outside the box, being drawn to the ball, but the close range shot got a nice kick save from Dibusz.

There were apparently penalty appeals against CCV on a play in the first half, but the ref took a pass.

Bit of very off-balance desperation defending by CCV, combined with an uncalled offensive foul, leads to a Ferencvaros corner. Close one. On second consecutive corner, CCV nice block of a cross but concedes a third consecutive corner.

Absolutely incredible job by filipe carrying the ball out of his defensive corner, pings 60 yard pass to Kyogo that splits the defenders, and classy near post finish by Kyogo. No CCV or Wingo content, but great goal to make it 1-0.

Rolled cross nutmegs CCV, Ralston excellent desperation tackle to prevent a Mmaee shot at an equalizer.
