    From the Man U forum

Obviously, Donny has to get playing time or put in a transfer request for January. Maybe he can get a loan back to Ajax under the fact that he is trying to make the WC and needs time.

Poor Donny van de Beek… he finally got into the starting lineup (first of the season?) But lasted 45 mins and subbed off at half time, after MU down with one man due to a red card :x3:

Donny struggled to really make much of an impact in his 45 minutes. Just looked sloppy. Which can’t blame him. But probably won’t start games anytime soon again

I feel what Man U have done with his criminal and I'm a Man U fan. But honestly feel this was like a decision from management to go get him and they get into coach up with him because I don't see anything that makes me think the coach wants him.

Both Donny and his agent share part of the blame as well. His agent said that he was looking for a way out and I’m certain that there are teams out there who’d sign Donny.

Then things took a turn because suddenly the team “needed” him and made a bunch of empty promises about playing time that only someone who’s extremely gullible and naïve would believe having Pogba and Bruno in the only spots Donny could potentially play in. Seems both Donny and his agent fall into that category as I could smell the BS all the way over here. Made his own bed IMO.

Ekkelenkamp with a lovely header to score the first and had a sliding touch in the box to deflect it off a defender for the match winner for Hertha. The second one went down as an own goal. I always liked him at Ajax but there were too many similar MFs. Hope he continues to score goals at Hertha!!

How did Koopmeiners do overall? I saw from the highlight that he was heavily involved in the build up of the second goal. Also had the second highest rating after the match winner, according to one football app I follow.

  10. "Analysis" by Marciano Vink of Joey Veerman's match against Feyenoord.
Vink: "Veerman kan makkelijk bij een topclub spelen"
Vink: "Veerman can easily play at a top club"
    Use google translate.
    https://www.fcupdate.nl/voetbalnieuws/390906/vink-veerman-kan-makkelijk-bij-een-topclub-spelen/

    j.

Vink unwittingly exactly tells the flaws I spot with Joey. To be ready for a top club you need to show your qualities against top clubs as there's the need for you to shine. Not against minnows.

"Tegen dit Feyenoord is het ook voor hem lastig. Je bent ook afhankelijk van wat er om je heen staat, hoe je de bal aangespeeld krijgt, waar je de bal aangespeeld krijgt...", verdedigde hij de middenvelder.

"Against this Feyenoord it is difficult for him too. You also depend on what's around you, how you get the ball played on, where you get the ball played on...", he defended the midfielder.

I will make a comparison with Clasie. Jordie Clasie never had any difficulty being pressed by quality opponents to deliver passes nevertheless. I remember Italian press writing about him as akin to Pirlo, after the Orange Squad'd friendly against Italy. Just a few weeks ago Clasie dominated the midfield against PSV. He's atm just unlucky to play in a team that either doesnot score the goals, or as in this week's match give away defensively stupid goals. But no matter the strength of the opponent, he delivers. Of course, as any player he also has turd matches, but those are a rarity.
Joey's quality matches against strong teams are a rarity.
Feyenoord fans were chanting he will play next season for Feyenoord.
Yeah, if you believe the pundits about how good he is, but it's better to be analytic about his real qualities, not the screen "wisdoms" of pundits.

  11. I actually can't believe nobody spots that Joey only delivers against minnows.

And if Joey was on Feyenoord he would be the best player in the Eredivisie

  13. On what basis? He still would have his flaws that will cost us against PSV/AZ/Ajax/Twente.
Neither of those teams would give him the space to do his magic.
Unless of course he suddenly unbolsters and starts to be magical when pressured too.
I dunno when I first posted my Joey observation, but he didnot develop beyond the level he was on, so I'm a bit weary to believe a change of team would do wonders. In fact I really believe it worsens him, as with a better team/better midfielders he gets even more freedom to do his magic without the need to work on his delivery while being pressed. It then only comes forward against European teams or our Eredivisie strong teams.

Anyway, if your suggestion is that I'm not criticizing Feyenoord players you really should read back my comments on Leroy Fer or Malacia when he was transferred to the first team.
You earn my respect as a Feyenoord player. You donot get it granted because you wear the shirt. Many years ago I pissed on players like Regy Blinker, who while playing well for Feyenoord, were content to stay on the same level that gave them entry to the club. They didnot put any effort in to become better.

If Joey was on a better Eredivisie team he would be one of the best players in the league. SC Heerenveen is a pretty poor team where other teams just know to take away Veerman and they have little to nothing after him. He would obviously have more space on a better team and it wouldn’t help his quick decision making but I also think he gets pressured more than almost and can look like a flaw when it’s really just lack of talent around him.

I think his vision on a top team would show how good he truly is

  15. I really hope your right, as he has that vision and the technical ability to execute it.
But I want to see him do it while for instance Klaassen breathes in his neck, but with a move he puts himself in the position to deliver that killer pass he's able to deliver
And if Feyenoord would be the place he unfolds his full potential, the better:).
I'm not his hater, I want him to rise to the next level asap.

This has nothing to do with it. Veerman just makes too many poor decisions right now.

Like I’ve said before, I’m liking Berghuis much more as a (C)AM than on the wing. He’s been so prolific there ever since Ten Hag started experimenting with him. He seems to like it too according to his own words.

2 assists up to this point today. Klaassen might have to sit on the bench for the NT just like he’s had to bench today for Berghuis.

We’ll have a problem on the right wing for the NT though, so van Gaal might not deploy Berghuis on the CAM position.

C'mon Van Gaal! There is no better time to experiment than when you're up against two teams at the bottom of the table!

    Berghuis on center midfield position.

Malen is right-footed but has a very good left foot, so he can be deployed as RW. Okay... Malen's current form for Dortmund is shaky, but when playing for Oranje, he's been pretty decent.

Gakpo is really good at cutting to the center with his long strides, so he is a sure-starter for LW.

Lang and Danjuma are the two back-ups... they are more-than-solid coming off from the bench. If all fails, can always put Berghuis back to RW and add another midfield player - but I suppose this won't be necessary. We are talking about Latvia and Gibraltar here for heaven's sake!!

Til is also showing good form in that CAM position. He has a big lungs and covers good ground both defensively and offensively. Can just overlook him.

I didn’t overlook him, I just think Berghuis is more suited. A CAM isn’t just a goal-scorer but maybe more importantly an assister. A good combination is best. Berghuis has 7 assists and 5 goals this season in all competitions including NT, while Til has 7 goals and 0 asissts.

Moreover, I think Berghuis is the more tehnically gifted out of the two for that position.

Taking all of the above into consideration one’d think Til is better suited as a CF. Let’s wait and see how the season progresses.

Snjeider was the best CAM of the current generation. None of the current candidates come close to him. Of course we currently don't have aRobben, van Persie or even a Kuyt.

Berghuis in scintillating form ever since moving to the CAM position. A goal and an assist at HT in the CL today. Surely van Gaal has no choice but to field him there.

I don't mind LVG to try Berghuis with FDJ and Gravenberch/Koop for MF (Klaassen on the bench) and then have Gakpo, Memphis and Lang up front for the next 2 games.
