Watched the highlights of the Man U match and man, I think Varane is definitely not the same as he was a few years ago. Got shook for the first goal bad and was very luck Newcastle are inept.
I disagree.. he had a decent game. The whole defense was caught out on that counter unless he chops the man there was really nothing he could do. Personally o think people underestimate Varane. I know he had a horror show at the City game in the CL but there’s not much better out there.
"I belong to Manchester United." ♥️Cristiano Ronaldo reflects on a "special" second debut for #MUFC that saw him score twice against Newcastle.pic.twitter.com/iCuKZT5aWw— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) September 12, 2021
He truly is such a bad ass player. Not someone I particularly like nor identify with, but someone for whom I have tremendous respect as a professional. Easily one of the best athletes to ever live, not just in football, but in any sport. His drive and commitment to excellence is probably only matched by the Michael Jordana and Kobe Bryants of the world. I will miss him when he hangs them up. Btw, there is no greater sign of badassery than when someone doesn’t particularly like you but would miss you when you are gone.
Ronaldo was Serie A Top Scorer last season. He just finished as the top scorer of Euro 2020 Finals. His mental game is perhaps the greatest ever in the history of the game. And people asked if he still has it in him. Is he in the Preimership on "vacation"? His competitiveness actually made him "unlikeable" to his pundits, not the other way around. He won't be the same Ronaldo of 2016-2018, but I thought Ronaldo's critics had always been silly.
Yeah he looks very thin but I am sure it’s part of the plan. To carry less weight though he would lose explosiveness, he would last longer both per match and for the season
He has, if you watch him at his peak in Madrid he was built like a tank, but that weight is unsustainable at his current age. Somebody suggested he's on a cycle, but the same person suggested at least half the Premier league pros are. take that for what it's worth but I find it entirely believable.
Good stuff, the CL trophies that he helped us to win and the three in a row record that he helped us to set belong to Madrid, personally i'm all good with that trade off
Honestly it feels a bit taken out of context. In the interview it didn’t sound like he meant he belonged to Manchester any more than other clubs. Also if that were true he wouldn’t have been so desperate to leave 12 years ago
