    Thomas Tuchel on Werners best position:
    "Werner is more suited to play off the main focal point which is (lakaku)". I think that will also apply to Havertz.

    he's already seen Raum as he was Senior NT call up and made debut.

    I doubt he snatches Burkardt from Kuntz. Same issue with Stiller/Tauer, better to stay with Kuntz.

    Another goal. But it just shows how bad both team on defensive duty. It could ended as 6-5 scoreline, both team will still not go far from their respective European campaign. Not with such mediocre defenders.

    Yeah agree best for all 3 to play under Kuntz for now. In any case Burkardt + Moukoko are going to fire the u21’s to another title and then step up to help win Euro 24 ;)

    Dortmund will at least have Hummels back, which should help. I don’t think Rose has improved the overall defending so far though. Gladbach were also too easy to score against last season so not sure why the Dortmund management thought his appointment would help.

    Dortmund can’t afford to take him off, without him and Haaland they won’t win many games.

    He did at least get a rest in midweek, didn’t travel to Iceland.

    True, but he just need more protection no? He's so synonymous with injuries that him playing fresh and fit feels like a strange sight nowadays.

    Süle on the bench. Must be frustrating for him considering he has been very good every game so far. Think he will get time vs Barcelona though.

    So Upamacano who is basically France U21 international benches Sule or does Sule needs a rest? Don’t like the Bayern defense with 3 French starters…I would like Stanisic to bench Pavard even if he plays for Croatia

    That's the advantage of him having the summer off.

    Compare to Hummels - he is wrecked because he played through the pain in the Euros

    Because: National coach Hansi Flick (56) sits in the stands, amazed at Burkhardt's first goal of the season (contract in Mainz extended to 2024 before the season).

    If Burkhardt made it into the senior national team one day, it would be almost a sensation. The last time Mainz was on the DFB team was over 10 years ago: In June 2011 André Schürrle (30 / end of career) and Lewis Holtby (30 / now Kiel) achieved this “miracle”.

    Madness: Mainz has 9 points on their account after the 4th matchday - and thus already 2 more than after the COMPLETE first half of last season.
