That was the defenders fault as well. He was standing directly in front and only moved out the way in the last few seconds.
That was coming. We had more than enough chances to get more goals and kept taking the wrong option or just kept fluffing our lines.
Yep, not too much to worry about really. Poland is somewhere we rarely win in and we didn't NEED to win either.
24 points guarantees us topping the group, and if we assume that Andorra and San Marino are in the bag, then it's two points from home games with Hungary and Albania.
Threw that away, apart from the last 5 minutes when it was bloody obvious to everybody that the team needed subs in a funny kind of way this was the best performance we had this week, got better as the second half wore on and stood up to MASSIVE provocation, the Polish celebrating like they've just won the world cup is a bit odd?
Regardless of the tactical reasons for making changes not using your bench doesn’t really instill trust in the players he’s not bringing on. Really odd decision considering the packed club and international football schedule this season too.
Yeah, a point is just fine and probably would have taken it before the game but it’s just frustrating when we dominate the game, they make changes and look fresher but Southgate doesn’t make one change when it was clear some of the players looked spent in that last 10 mins. We keep hearing about our strength in depth that we have on the bench but obvious someone didn’t send the memo to Southgate!
