IMO, starfelt's inconsistent performances throughout two halves of any game mean CCV will threaten his place in the team.
You could be right. I still think CCV will slot in beside Starfelt and Welsh goes to the bench. That does mean you have two right-footed CB’s but Starfelt is pretty decent with his left.

I know I’m bias AF but I gotta say the green and white hoops look really nice on CCV. The colors belong on him. Now…. Just disappoint me CCV!
I guess after 1 1/2 years at Celtic....Newcastle will want to buy him after all....would seem about the path he's on with this move. (Mid-Tier Prem club after this)
It will be very exciting for him to have a 2nd place medal at this Massive club. And sad for me to sit around rooting for a year of 0-0 ties...
Half of connecting with fans is the UK is just using the words “massive” and “brilliant” much more often
Was the Beasley/Edu time in Scotland pretty much the last time Rangers or Celtic were seen as big clubs and regularly qualifying for the Champions League?
Really great move for CCV, Postecoglou is an excellent coach and will demand progressive passing and speed from his defenders. Expect a lot of goals scored on both ends as the team learns to play under the coach…
I think this is a bad move for CCV. I get the need to play on a regular basis. But Celtic and Scotland in general is not a place to challenge yourself. Israel has sent countless players to Scotland and Celtic in particular (Nir Bitton, Beram Kayal, Liel Abada, Guy Melamed, Ofir Marciano, Hatem Abd Elhamed). No one ever seemed to move on to better clubs from there. The best we got was Kayal going to Brighton and I think that was before they got promoted to the Premier League. Celtic is a good place to go for a final pay day.
Still a loan though, right? Positives is if things revert to the mean, Celtic will have many games where CCV (assuming he plays) gets to work on his attacking/distribution. Negatives... well, it's Celtic!
Pretty much. One or the other of the clubs has consistently been in the Europa League since that time (prior to this season it was only Celtic in competition for the CL since 2013). Scotland’s UEFA coefficient fell off a cliff after Rangers went into administration. Celtic have repeatedly failed to qualify for the Group Stages of the Champions League for the last five years- falling at qualifying round hurdles. Since reaching the round of 16 in 2013, they’ve only made the group stage three times in 9 years. Rangers, as champions from this past season for the first time in 10 years, also failed to qualify for the group stages this season. Abderdeen have also repeatedly failed in the qualifying rounds for the Europa League, having failed to qualify for the group stages of the Europa League in each of the past seven seasons. The quality of the Scottish league, which was never that high to begin with, has probably suffered from the failure of its clubs to consistently make it into European competitions.
