You’ve clearly never seen him play ... He was Barca’s third best player last season behind Messi and FDJ plus he was one of Spain’s best performers in the Euros Last season at just 18 , he’d apparently played 72 games ( Barca , Spain and Spain under 23s) going into the Olympics It’s only yesterday you were saying that Harvey Elliot hadn’t shone on the last two Liverpool games so it seems that your judgements are massively flawed .
Anyone complaining about last night’s lineup and/or performance is a troll. How about reserving judgement until after the match? Or showing the manager or players a bit of faith? That’s what supporters do. There are far worse trolls than you Rover but no doubt you regularly cross that line.
I’d argue that it’s people like you that are the real trolls as you seem incapable of accepting that other people may have different views or opinions on the beautiful game so just label them trolls . It’s just basic incitement/baiting imho
I have seen him play and he’s a top young player but he certainly isn’t the difference between Spain winning and losing. The Spanish team just isn’t that good anymore with or without him. Sweden are a very good team perfectly setup to beat a side like Spain that are now relying on much weaker players to make the difference. Spain are playing Eric Garcia at centre back. This is a player with 38 senior appearances and 11 international caps! That shows you how weak some areas of their team are. Elliot is another top young player but he hasn’t been the standout player for Liverpool so far. He’s done well relative to his age.
Let me rephrase that. I complained during the first half about the ponderous nature but not the game as a whole
I have to say that there are a couple of posters (we all know who) that keep me away from the national boards and on my club boards only. Perhaps that's exactly what they're trying to do, whatever their goal is it's a shame.
Yep, I wonder if those posters ever go back and read their posts criticising everything from the team selection to how rubbish we are 15 minutes into a game which we were untroubled in and win 4-0. It's embarrassing stuff, that was a brilliant qualifying performance last night - in what was one of our 2 big tests in the group. Italy draw, Spain lose, but in a few weeks time we'll be being told how great they are and how rubbish Southgate is
maybe stop telling other people how to think and just accept they have a different opinion to you? I mean that is what forums are here for, different views being discussed not a safe space echo chamber with a hive mind. If people were more tolerant of differing views maybe they wouldn't have been so shocked that Brexit won, hell they may have been able to convince some of them to change their mind instead of just silencing them
Some posters like me are reactionary when it comes to England performances. I want them to do well so badly that I get emotional when it doesn't happen. Doesn't mean to say I don't want them to win
If I'd been at home I would have watched, as I will Saturday, but at work, unless there is something to excite me I'm not going out of my way, had Greenwood been starting up front I would have watched a couple of new caps in key positions I would have watched, but with the same manager, same squad and same style of play watching on my phone wasn't going to happen. I just recorded the highlights instead
Mos of us complained about that, as did the commentators and pundits at halftime, (including Ian Wright who's like an England side 'ultra'), because... well, we were moving the ball too slowly. But I think there's a difference between that, (which is a comment about an observable aspect of play), and saying that a counterfactual, (we'd be better if we didn't play 'X' or if we did play 'Y'), meant we'd win every game 10-0 and that it was all down to Southgate. That is simply speculation and it could also be the lack of player 'X' or inclusion of player 'Y' meant we LOST every game 10-0. There's just no way of being certain about it. I'm guessing we are playing Rice because he's playing quite well for his club as they're joint top of the EPL atm and, apart from that, who else are we talking about in terms of midfield creativity? This is the problem... most of the people being discussed either aren't playing atm, (like Wicks IIRC), or are young lads like Bellingham who is playing and playing well but he's only a young kid and he plays outside the EPL so it's harder to compare. What we do know is that the guys playing atm have done business so far and have got the right to retain the shirt, at least for game starts in matches where we have to win.
