At least no fax machines were involved in this case.

Hoppe and Nico in particular can play on the wing, and all of them except maybe Dike can play as a second forward, so I don't think they're really competing for one spot. It's more that all of them, along with Puli, Reyna, Weah, Konrad, Aaronson, Lletgat, McKennie, Musah, and a bunch of wunderkids are competing for 4-5 spots, at least one of which is guaranteed to the above group or Weah.

That assumes that GGG can be formation-flexible in an attempt to get his best players on the field, which....we'll see.

Ha! Eintracht Frankfurt are denying claims they gave Lazio the wrong email address when negotiating about Filip Kostic. Instead they are saying Lazio forgot the “K” in the address when emailing their offer. Summer deadline day is the absolute best! It’s always a shit show and I love when stories like this come out. True or not. :D

@bshredder would be the one to confirm it but, reading between the lines of the press reports, there was indeed some glitch with the League's computer system which prevented the paperwork being processed/uploaded.

Since both parties were saying the same thing and there were two other Caen players in the same boat, the League had ample grounds for approving the deal after the deadline.

This is more or less true.

Again, when I reported "the deal is done," I was only reporting it as all parties formally put ink to paper (which happened 16 minutes before the deadline). I didn't figure on a computer glitch.

I am not 100% sure how they got it resolved. But this sounds about right. It's done. He's registered at Montpellier.

Nicholas came on 58'. Game is on right now on Bein Sports Xtra which is free on most smart TV's or using Roku, etc. 76' now and Montpellier is up 2-0. I forgot about the match and just turned it on so not sure how he's played

Nicholas got subbed in late with Montpelier a man down and was playing on left wing. He runs down a ball in front of Troyes defender towards sideline not far from corner flag and turns around putting ball on his right foot and puts in nice driven cross to teammate not far from top of the box who flubs his first touch a little but gathers and scores

EPB was not in the squad for Troyes. Don't know why.

Gioacchini - given all the time in the world to make a cross by the defense ( a bizarre decision) - really picked out a smart pass.

Nico also received a pass in the 90th minute from just wide of the penalty spot, but his feet got tangled up with a defender. Both teams almost had winners at the death in this one.

This kid has really impressed me since he came on radar (brief USMNT comment) his love for the shirt and the opportunity, his performances, but then now the move to League 1 and already making an impact.

That was a very good assist. I think the defenders gave up on play because it looked like he was just going to blindly whip in a cross after he turned. He made a move towards ball as such. But he showed a lot of poise by waiting a split second and finding an actual target and putting the ball on the spot- with the right amount of pace on it as well. A lot of other players would have just lumped that over.

Rooting for him to keep progressing....very young at 21 still....put in a couple 2 years at this level and prove his can start and be productive....and then higher levels await again

    Great story!

Nico in for the last 10 minutes vs. Bordeaux

    He is playing CF

What a play by the Bordeaux winger. went through 3 defenders for the tie score.

Nice shield by Nico and layoff to a teammate on a counter.

Another nice hold up play by Nico that got the defender a yellow.

    Extra 4 minutes.

Nico with a slice of a header inside the box that goes wide.

    FT 3-3

Nico may only be getting 10 minutes or so a game, but he is not being overwhelmed. He is holding his own at this level. Hopefully, he will be getting a bit more time as the season progresses.
