Increíble que la FMF aún no lo haya amarrado, justamente a esta clase de talentos hay que darles un trato diferente pues valen la pena.
Tiempo atras habia un video de Marcelo Flores jugando con la seleccion Mexicana sub-17 en un partido o un torneo en Europa. En ese momento te dire que se miraba como un jugador normal, bueno a secas pero nada especial. Ahora, me imagino que tal vez tenia solo unos 15 o 16 años y ya ha mejorado mas jugando en un futbol mas exigente. Seria bueno volverlo a llamar a la sub-20 haber como ha progresado. Definitivamente en aquel momento no era como un Vela o Giovani, pero un jugador interesante para seguir observandolo.

He’s almost 18 so if he’s as good as they say he might by end of year. Kind of interesting that transfer market has him listed as an attacking midfielder and at 183 cm. He looks short in those pics but maybe he had a growth spurt in the last few months. Would be great to have him as Herreras replacement for next cycle. I think CMs who can defend and attack is the one position Mexico is lacking depth in.

Damn. There’s another pic where everyone is standing and he looks to be the shortest, but this picture makes him look tiny compared to everyone. Definitely not 183 cm. Read that Mexico lost 5-1 but that Flores was definitely the best player and goals were due to a bad full back that Spain was taking advantage off. Not sure if left or right back that was the weak link in Mexico’s side.
It's one game but it's honestly no surprise that we don't compete as well in that age range where very few of our players get opportunities to play vs good competition. The level of our youth leagues is frankly pathetic even compared to Liga de Expansion. We're developing players that only start to make a difference in Liga MX once they're 22-23.
