But…but…there’s no overlap between people who go to HS pointyball games and who want to go to Crew games! [emoji6]

Ha. Well I mean it’s not by choice but they kinda need medical coverage.

It's almost as if demand isn't there for the product right now.

But these are all resale tickets, though, right? Meaning the team has already collected the revenue? Isn't that the most important thing?

And, side note: I'm actually excited to have quiet a bit of Orange & Blue int he stadium. It'll improve the atmosphere and feed the rivalry and then pump up demand for the product. Hell is Real should be the hottest pro sporting event in the city and the hardest ticket to get.

As long as we don't get overrun, I have no problem with having some FCC fans in the house. Columbus v Cincinnati is a rivalry, but I don't think of it as a blood rivalry. I want it to be fierce ON THE FIELD, but I don't absolutely hate fans from Cincinnati. They're like neighbors. I don't want to shit on fellow Ohioans. (Well, except for when I do.)

It's like Cleveland vs Cincinnati in the various sports. (That I know of.) There's rivalry, but they don't want to kill each other. They just want to be able to rub it in each other's faces.

I'm not going to stop feeling grumpy about the team quietly doing away with their ticket exchange policy for season ticket members.

The ticket rep who walked me through the new stadium seats assured me the policy would be similar to the years past but he wasn't sure exactly how many games would be in the exchange list. Well, the answer is zero.

But! My new rep told me that even though there is no exchange policy, it is very easy to resell tickets to games you can't attend. You get all your money back! This new system is even better, see! Of course, the Crew and Ticketmaster get another set of fees if we use their new system.

And that's the point. Not COVID. Not "protecting you from scalpers". Not "it's easier".

I actually talked to one of the scalpers outside of the last game. He said they do it just with screenshots of the tickets. Seems like a good way to get screwed.

Yes. There's this dynamic thing some ticket setups use where screenshots don't work after a bit.

But the other point is that it's a lot tougher to dump a ticket at the last minute if you find yourself stuck with one (or to pick one up cheap from someone in that position).

This is a perennial blind spot for me (I think I've exchanged 2 games in the entire 12 years I've had Season Tickets) and now that you mention the demise of the Exchange Policy as the catalyst for the uptick in people offloading tickets, it makes complete sense.

    Thank you, it clicked.

I think I'm in the same boat as you regarding Crew tickets. Maybe once or twice--total. I generally have tended to give them away.

Now Blue Jackets are a different story. My quarter season plan is pretty bad this season regarding conflicts. I think I have 4 major (like "out of town" major) and 3 minor--out of 11 games. I have used their ticket exchange regularly.

The Crew have plenty of unsold seats. If you go to Ticketmaster, the blue dots are seats available from the team, the purple dots are resellers.

I have at least one Nordecke ticket available. Mrs. DnD tested positive six days after her second Pfizer shot. Fortunately, the only symptom is loss of smell and taste.

Completely agree. Even though I used the term "scalpers" in my previous post, I actually have a delineation between on the street ticket scalpers holding the sign up "I NEED TICKETS" that are either looking to make a fast buck or con someone out of hard earned $$ based on their fast talking skills, and actual real ticket brokers that have websites and offices.

Way back in the day, I used to do ticket buying work for a ticket broker. We never broke the ticket master rules in terms of the onsite lottery or anything like that, but there were times I'd walk into Kroger on a Saturday morning with $3000 in my pocket and a list of concerts, venues, and onsale times. I'd walk out four hours later, turn in my tickets, and remaining cash, and get paid. Not a bad way to make some spare change on a Saturday morning. Hell, the guy I worked for actually has an office in a local town in Central Ohio, is part of the chamber of commerce, has an A+ rating with the BBB (0 complaints) and has been in business for something like 30 years. I learned a lot about TM and how they classify events and onsales back in the day.

Anyway, 28 hours to go, and as of this morning, things are just a little different than they were yesterday morning. The resale market on TM actuallly INCREASED in total tickets available by 27 tickets, while the TM count dropped by 84. So overall, TM's availability went down (1036 to 979), but that's only because there were more original tickets sold (289 to 204). Good for getting us to a sellout (seems unlikely to me at this point), but bad for those of us looking to unload seats.

Stubhub had a BIG drop from yesterday morning. Remember, I thought something funky happened overnight two nights ago? They've had system issues all day yesterday and so far today. Can't access listings, clicking on sections to see availability is unreliable and sloooowwww. But, Total number of tickets dropped by 287 in roughly 24 hours from 1248 to 961 (subject to counting errors; math is hard).

Is that real? A sign of actual demand? I remain skeptical of their system right now. My biggest fear is that I sell my friend's tickets on TM, and then can't access the SH system to delete the listing and then THAT listing gets sold too which means I did a bad thing.

If you're still reading, first, I'm sorry. Quite the super exciting topic for most people, I'm sure. Second, if anyone wants to make a reasonable offer on the tickets I'm trying to sell for my friends, I'm all ears and will present any and all offeres.

141, row 9, seats 3&4: Face Value is $230 for the pair
    237, row 5, seats 11 & 12; Face Value is $198 for the pair
238; row 5, seats 5-8; All four or will sell in pairs; Face Value is $99/ticket.

    Thanks!!!

I hope she has a full and speedy recovery. If she only has mild symptoms, sounds like she's fighting it like a champ.

Since the plural of anecdote is data, a tidbit. I put a midfield east seat on sale Monday and it's still there, a few dollars cheaper than the others nearby. It looks to me as if demand is weak for HiR. That surprises me but putting the game on Friday night and a home team on the longest losing streak in team history isn't a recipe for a sellout.

Fortunately, I've not had trouble getting rid of extra Nordecke tickets this season. Cheapest tickets in the house + a sold out section = adequate demand.

I haven't gotten tested yet and am fully vaccinated, but I don't wanna be that guy, especially in a section as crowded as the Nordecke.
