OK, explaining a joke is akin to killing it, but here I go.

The basketball player's name is Isiah. If you say it like it's spelled, it's eye-zi-uh. This guy's name has that first a, so it's pronounced eye-zay-uh.

I waited in vain for many years for someone to call the basketballer eye-zi-uh. Sadly, it never happened.

Saying eye-zi-uh fast three times sounds like my dog's sneeze. just sayin'...............

So if I'm reading this correctly, Isaiah Thomas was on the U10/11 team for 2012/13 (based on the link above; but, oddly, an updated link to the roster for that same team no longer mentions him) and Elias was on the U12s that same year.

It's possible that there is some kind of clerical error and they are the same guy, but they could also be brothers (or otherwise related).

    Anyone know?

He's still at Wolfsburg, on the U15s, though for some reason his name is now spelled (at least, on the club's roster page) as "Isajah."

We have any reason to think he's also a son of Jacob Thomas (and a brother to Elias)? @Ger90, any idea?

As a side note, scanning Wolfsburg's youth team pages I was interested to see a couple of Mexican guys listed there.

Here's pretty much confirmation that '04 Isaiah is US-eligible and the younger brother of Elias. Father is Jacob Thomas who played for the Crew.

oh he's Elias Thomas's younger brother, interesting to know if he'll have more success than his older bro.

he moves up to Wolfsburg U17 next season according to TM.
