MATCHDAY GUIDE | Everything you need to know ahead of Revs vs. D.C. (August 18, 2021) By Elizabeth Pehota revolutionsoccer.net
Well I read that and wasted my time. Was hoping for some pregame chatter her. I for one am sick of Wed games with a mostly empty stadium.
I don't understand how your going to Wednesday games has anything to do with his desire not to have them on the schedule anymore? I too go to all of them but I would prefer that all games were on Saturdays. The Wednesday games are the unfortunate result of the league having to compress the schedule to to COVID and, hopefully, won't be as frequent next season. Aren't we all sick of Wed. games with mostly empty stadiums?
Preview | Unbeaten in seven, Revs return home to host D.C. United on Wednesday night By Jeff Lemieux revolutionsoccer.net
When I used to have no responsibilities and ample time, I went to every game. Didn't matter the day, midweek games were worse, but I had no other priorities that took precedence. Now things are different, and midweek games are indeed terrible for driving to Foxboro. So I wouldn't judge anyone harshly for complaining about midweek games even if they don't go themselves. I also think most of the pregame chatter tends to happen on Twitter now. This board and reddit both seem pretty slow, if there is anywhere other than Twitter where major Revs talk is taking place, I'd love to know because I hate Twitter so, so, so much. Anyway, likely another nail biting stiff test tonight - go Revs!
There is a fan discord where some of the younger fans are very active, and a few of the bloggers/slightly older fans are moderately active as well Otherwise the only other option is the bent musket, which is very dead from a comment perspective
DC’s defense & offense absolutely relentless and aggressive at both ends of the field. These Revs starters are not matching. Thanks for Matt T keeping Revs down by only 1 at 17 mins.
They came out with purpose to start the second half. This team has lots of nervy moments every game that make me wince, but they also have moments every game that make my jaw drop.
Bruce gets the credit from me on this one. He recognized that the Mariel/Kaptoum combo was not working, changed the tactics to attack the wings with speed and it paid off.
I live near Worcester and there is no heavy traffic for Wednesday games and it's much easier getting in and out of the stadium.
Good got you. The point is the franchise suffers at the gate with Wednesday games. Looked like an ok crowd last night. Lets compare the Sat crowd if it doesnt rain. BTW.... I used to go to many more games when it was more affordable.... Cant really take a family with kids at $35 a pop
not only not working.... they stunk. One was directly responsible for the first goal. Bad passes and turnovers. Hope to not see them on the field together again. Why havent we seen more of Boateng. That guy ignited the team with his crosses and drives. I give him my MOTM.
Defense was slow to recover on first DCU goal, then did the same thing a few minutes later, but Turner was able to make the save. I like DeLaGarza, but they really missed Bye last night. Tajon's goal was a thing of beauty: from the Bou steal, the diagonal to Boateng, the cross, the finish. Ema Boateng has only played 109 minutes, but he is 7th on the team with 2 assists. He was a game changer last night. NSH and ORL tied each other, while NYC lost to PHI, so Revs are now 14 points up in the East.
That first half was ... bad. Just bad. Full credit to Arena sayin' "F' this, we're not losing at home" and bringing the big boys in. I know this was an attempt to save their legs, as we FINALLY have a Saturday home game coming up. But these are the games you have to get three points in, and they did. The subs made an immediate impact obviously. Turner was solid, as usual. The defense struggled, as usual. The offense, once the second half started, showed how good they can be. I'm excited to see these guys continue building confidence, as I think that's just a great spot to be in when Gil comes back. Top. Of. The. League.
Perhaps more importantly, we’re up 15 on NYC and ORL, who each have 2 games in hand on us. So worst case we’ve still got a 9 point cushion. It’s also worth noting that Colorado is oddly the biggest potential shield threat, with three games in hand and only 12 points behind.
My wife watched the first half and said your midfield really sucks. Yeah, that wasn't very good. As others have posted, big attaboy to BA for making the changes at halftime. He was not a happy camper during his short and curt halftime interview. I understand resting players, but I think we found out that resting half the team at one time doesn't work. DeLaGarza drove me nuts. He would be over on the right-hand side waving his arms, pass me the ball. He would get the pass and turn and pass it back to Farrell. Why bother!! I thought Traustason's first yellow card was a make-up call. How do you card a player on the losing side for time-wasting? That and he kicked it to the goalie. Hopefully, Polster will be available for the next game. It is fun watching this team and knowing that they are never out of a game.
