I don't know what happened, but it would appear people are dumping their tickets for FCC this Friday. As I mentioned, I've been trying to sell a few extras for friends who don't quite understand the technology (yes, they're older, more "silver" in nature) of how to sell tickets online. I've got them listed on Stubhub and TM Resale. From 8/14 to 8/21, the total # of tickets available on TM including resale fell from a little over 900 to just under 660 on Sunday morning. Stubhub stayed generally at the same level, but the variation within each section was significant at times. The number of actual TM tickets available went from about 540 to about 190. People were buying them up at a pretty good clip. I think a good chunk were scalpers as I felt like I'd see them go from blue dots to pink dots, but that's anecdotal at best. Anyway, starting on Monday, all three counts that I've been tracking, Total TM tickets, TM only (no resale) tickets, and stubhub tickets have been increasing. And last night, they exploded. Overnight, the team released approximately 100 more tickets mostly in the east stands. Monday, the number of TM only tix were about 160, and the team has slowly released more tickets everyday. From yesterday around 4p, to this morning, Stubhub about doubled the number of available tickets. From 629, 1,248!!! That is insane. And these tickets don't have the characteristics of typical ticket brokers. Unless they are really bad ticket brokers. They're all sets of two, three or four, with the occasional five or six. And the pricing is just wrong for how the market is trending. Across the board, they appear to be intent on bringing the average asking price UP. Re-selling tickets is usually a volume game, and not typically a high unit margin game. Tickets get resold for $20-30 over face value of an expensive ticket. Brokers understand that ti's a "small ball" kind of game. Most people think that it's a swing for the fences game and when they realize otherwise, they get out. At first, I thought that Stubhub was scraping other sites and re-listing sites like SeatGeek or TM, and that might be, but I couldn't find any close or direct correlation between what I could see on SH and what I could see on SG or TM. I haven't done any research at all into the matter. Total tix on TM incl resale have gone from about 660 earlier this week to over 1,000 this morning. I've braced my friends to prepare to take a loss on the tickets, and even maybe not selling them at all. So if you hear someone say they couldn't get tickets for this game, they're really saying they didn't try very hard. I think we should also expect quite a bit of blue and orange throughout the stadium on Friday.
I have to sell mine due to covering HS FB. They are on ticketmaster right now, but will sell for a discount to someone here.
