Tranmere Rovers? The Super White Army! Tucker’s favorite football club not currently based in Budapest.
One of the...highlights? of ESPN soccer broadcasts in the 90s was hearing Seamus Malin and Tommy Smyth go on and on...and on...about Tranmere Rovers. At least we had Bob Lea.

Don’t hear much from the USWNT players regarding the fact their teammates are making less than $15/hr which is supposedly the new standard for fry cooks and ticket takers at the movie theatre. Thx, Jay!
The NHL has come up with the Winter Classic, and now MLB has the Field of Dreams game. Hopefully MLS can come up with something that's an iconic destination game soon. It’s so good 😭😭 https://t.co/rAZzw4iSIE— Baseball America (@BaseballAmerica) August 12, 2021
David Ochoa and how he chose Mexico over US... sounds like a familiar story and one bound to repeat itself ad nauseum... https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/david-ochoa-mexico-national-team-soccer
I kind of feel like for American soccer, not just MLS, that was the USA-Mexico qualifier every cycle in Columbus.
Happy for him if that is where he feels comfortable. The part where he felt slighted for not getting minutes in Nations League after playing a handful of pro games for RSL is a no win situation for us soccer.
This article by Candace Buckner actually preceded everything with Burke by a day, but reached print today. Worth noting that once again, full time salaried USWNT players stirring the pot for equal pay as the USMNT aren’t quoted in support of their NWSL sisters. Sick of side hustles, NWSL players push back in fight for labor rights Thx, Jay!
The one gigantic flaw in the article, and all of the articles bemoaning low pay in the NWSL, is nobody ever mentions how much revenue the league is getting and what percentage goes to salaries.
One solution might be for U.S. Soccer to take the money they are using to pay the "special" USWNT players and instead use it to increase salaries in the NWSL. The last year of USWNT games has shown that the women's team has gotten old, complacent, and passed up by a number of other countries. Perhaps it's time for the top women players to compete for a place on the team, just like the men. Edit: I just checked and the USWNT Players Association contract runs out this year.
I wonder if this now becomes the proverbial hill the Fed is willing to die on, considering this lawsuit. No more salaries, no more subsidized NWSL pay, just pay for play same as the men, and without that, no deal.
I think the word is: Disingenuous I won't struggle to root against this guy. He got a ton of support from US Soccer. The fact that he was put between the pipes for USA's Olympic qualification - over other keepers with at least an equal claim - that was controversial, right? And his performance there probably won a lot of Mexican hearts and minds. The disaster behind USA's Olympics embarrassment https://au.sports.yahoo.com › football-david-ochoa-goa... Mar 29, 2021 — David Ochoa's shocking blunder meant heartbreak for the Americans... You'd think he might feel a stronger bond - and maybe even a debt. He's a jerk to point the finger at the Fed, rather than just admitting he's being opportunist. Seems like a jerk anyway.
