This was expected. Always said they'd put him in Lewa, Neuer tier. Goretzka could be available for free though if he persists with 10 ME nett wages demand.
Latest from Di Marzio on Lukaku posted on Instagram- in the past few days he has told Inter he wants to accept Chelsea’s offer which is an upgrade financially but also a better situation to win trophies Inter have told their directors to maximize his sale— David Amoyal (@DavidAmoyal) August 4, 2021 Di Marzio added that Lukaku has not asked Inter to match the salary Chelsea are offering him in order to stay and that he had turned down Man City last spring because he thought Inter would have a more ambitious project than one we see now, Inter will go after Duvan Zapata now— David Amoyal (@DavidAmoyal) August 4, 2021

I know EPL teams get smack for their hype but they're legit building up well for next season. This is after two teams made the final of UCL and one in Europa. Interesting season ahead.
Is he worth 10ME net wages, even on a free transfer? If we end up having players putting him on the bench and the majority of starting lineup on wages lower than he's on then what kind of discontent might we expect at some point after? I doubt guys like Casemiro, Valverde, Militao, etc. will be happy about playing their way onto the team the old fashioned hard way if they feel like they are getting shortchanged on payday. Half the team could end up in the "tier 1" wage category for it to make any sense or be "fair."
Jack Grealish to Manchester City, here we go! Just unprofessional. You have work horses like VJ and Benzema doing military prep and then you have Neymar, Hazard just thinking talent along will see them through.
I had to stay in shape year round because I always had to fight for my job but I just find it hilarious people who don't have the discipline to even reach a professional level of sport are critical so heavily critical when players let go in the off-season. It's his vacation time. As long as he shows up in better shape and gets himself in fine shape without injury issues or delay due to that vacation time it shouldn't matter to you how he is spending his personal time.
The only problem I had were with guys who showed up badly out of shape, using training camp to get into some kind of shape. Usually those were guys with big contracts so obviously someone like me who was always in fight mode would detest them lol.
Lukaku is the ultimate microwave meal though. How long will Premier League teams continue out spending each other on the same player and then selling him a couple years later, how many looks do you need to have at him? It's absurd. Like a pyramid scheme.

Smells like bullshit but we’ll know soon enough because I imagine there will be 20 reports echoing the same in the next few hours if it’s true.
PSG and City out there spending 100s of millions of euros while the rest of Europe is barely staying a float. What a system.
