His offense has been otherworldly but I still want to see better defending from him - our cbs are still getting insufficient support from our DMs. And this isn’t a one time thing, it has happened several games in a row. I assume it’s more a problem of positioning than effort. Whatever the reason we can’t be leaving players wide open 8-15 yards in front of our back line, especially not in the center of the park. They have been using that space & time to pick apart our central D. Obviously it’s on the back 4 as well - they have been far from mistake free and are leaving gaps of their own. But defense is a team effort and our midfield needs to help out more.
I was thinking about this. Clearly Rayan is amazing but seems more a box to box midfielder then a destroyer. He definitely can pick out that big switch pass that Vanney was looking for but I haven't seen him yet be terribly effective at protecting the center backs. It's early still but just an observation. It may not be a coincidence that we benefited from Saldena coming in at halftime to sit more defensively ahead of the back 4 last weekend. Anyway, can someone make a thread for Wednesday night's match?
Seems imminent so here are some goals scored by our new signing in the Austrian top league last year while on loan from Frankfurt. Seems good with his head and lots of nice finishes with both feet. Seems to have a bit of a knack of anticipating the right places to be in the box.
I agree which is why if Jonathan doesn't re-sign with the team, he should take that number 8 "Regista" spot from him fulltime, making Saldana a natural choice for pure destroyer CDM. ------------DeJan----Chicha----Grandsir -------------------------Llegett ---------------Rayan-----------Saldana Otherwise we can play him as a 8/6 hybrid to allow Vasquez or Sasha in the game as a False 9/CAM with Llegett on the wing. --------------DeJan----------------Chicha --------------------Vasquez/Sasha Llegett-------------------------------------Grandsir -----------------------Raveloson I can't wait to see one of the above trotted out at some point in the next couple games.
I From the highlights I like his runs off the ball, the quick feet, the economy of movement and the enthusiasm he shows for the game. I mean he’s no Zubak but still…
Reports from Serbian media of Dejan Joveljić signing w/ #LAGalaxy for transfer fee of €3.5 mil ($4.2) from @eintracht_eng. If true, it would make the 21 year-old Serbian attacker the 5th most expensive signing in @LAGalaxy history, surpassing Robbie Keane & Cristian Pavón.— Christian Miles (@cmilessports) August 3, 2021 Inching closer it would seem.
Apparently Dejan landed in LAX yesterday. I am not sure if anyone caught any photos, but yea he is meant to be signing the paperwork today. His fitness likely isn't great, but we could see him playing relatively soon.
I wouldn't assume that personally. I think he'll have to leave the country and get his VISA and come back. Hopefully the difference is that Serbia has a faster process then France. Vanney seemed to hint the delays were French beauacracy related.
Corner of the Galaxy confirms that he has to leave to get his work visa before coming back and playing This isn't a trip to come and play with the Galaxy. This is a trip so Jovelić can sign paperwork, maybe have a physical... that type of thing. He will then have to leave, and re-enter US under his P-1 Visa once it's received. That's my understanding. #LAGalaxy #MLS https://t.co/AzFTqR4V5e— Corner Of The Galaxy (@GalaxyPodcast) August 2, 2021
IF he keeps it up. Let's just wait a bit (like at least into next season) before we offer him a big raise and 4 year contract extension.
Looks good. I only got through half the video, but saw him score at least 2x the goals Cabral did on his highlight video. Can't wait to see him!
https://sbisoccer.com/2021/08/sourc...ng-sought-by-liga-mx-and-middle-eastern-clubs Lletget linked with Mexican and European clubs.
If the money is right, I would consider it. I have a hard time wanting to sell a player who is a great locker room guy, serviceable on the field, and an all around good guy, but I also think at his age and at this stage, it’s worth considering what we can get. Vanney and DtK have done well finding talent.
I like you, have mixed feelings. Ideally, we all want the best for Lletget. However, league rules make it hard to get a player anywhere near Seb's quality as a replacement. For example, Transfermarkt lists his transfer value $2.75mm. If the league get that as a the transfer fee, the Galaxy get 95% ($2.61mm) which would be great except that the league only awards a max of $1.05mm in roster usable GAM funding. The rest goes to the club as cash for non-roster purposes. The Galaxy would have this amount plus the remaining prorated value of his contract to spend on a replacement. This would include their salary and any transfer fee. To me, this makes selling a high TAM player like Seb very risky.
I wouldn't put a lot of stock in it anyway. He didn't have that good of a gold cup and I don't see Mexican teams wanting to spend on a relatively old American. Maybe the middle eastern teams, but unless they increase his salary dramatically, it wouldn't be worth the big step down in soccer and quality of life.
